I'm Sick Of Hearing...
I'm sick of hearing "Black men need to stand up". That's what my cousin was talking about at my grandmas funeral today. She didnt quite say black, but she said "we need some stand up men, I'm sick of this". I dont really even know what that means. and she was directing it mostly to me and my brothers. I dont understand why many black women complain about black men. It's ridiculous. First of all there are more bum white men than bum black men because there are more white people. And I live in a white community so I know that there are white guys who are just as bad as black guys. It seems everything on Tv about black people is always negative. Anyways she was talking about how we dont go to church enough with our mom. Idc, I dont wanna go to church, you can be mentally in church and physically elsewhere.
Idk, this "we need more stand up black men in our communities" junk really bothers me. I graduated with a 4.26 gpa, I'm in college and going to school, and started off college with a good GPA. what more do these people want. And also one of the pastors said "we need to get the word of jesus out, especially to these MEN in here".
I dont try to get people's approval, I'm just putting out facts. It seems that so many black women complain about black men, but they are the ones who chose THOSE TYPES of black men. They complain its no good men and stuff. This isnt all black women, but its a handful.
Idk, the only community I chose to put myself in and belong to is the Autism Community because you are so much more forgiving, open-minded, and accepting. Other people arent so much.
why is this? is it NTs?
Yeah, it's the NTs...not all NTs (regardless of race) place as much value on education, life-long ambitions, etc. as they should because they think that it is selfish--at any age, but especially at your age--to put your own needs ahead of their community's. This stems from the fact that this is what was expected of them at your age, and they most likely grew up so sheltered from the rest of society that they never were exposed to opinions to the contrary.
Stand up for what?
When I hear things like this, it just sounds like aimless charlatans recycling revolutionary rhetoric from a time long gone. There needs to be a new philosophy for that but the media has too much control there and identity politics comes into play. I'd comment more but it's not my place since I didn't grow up in it...but then again, if I grew up in it, I very well may have never gotten the tools to be able to analyze and comment on it.
