The war against drugs is not even a real war, as it is not conceivably winnable, ever. For every single dealer that gets locked up, three junkies take his place on the corner. Drugs will never be unpopular. There is no way to defeat an enemy so vague as "drugs."

Obama should just declare that they concede to drugs. Because it is a war that cannot be won.

People will always do drugs, because everyone wants to escape from reality. Your psych meds and coffee isn't so different from my pot and morphine. It's all just an escape from a silly reality, or some stupid problem. And this world sucks. SO drugs win.

The end

until a critical mass of americans stand up monolithically and say "STOP!" this modern prohibition will not reverse itself, as long as there are major constituencies benefiting from the status-quo. democratic adminstrations/politicians tend to be more lenient, while GOP admins tend to tighten the screws. you see the gradual loosening of pot laws in places like california and washington state, so you know what to do.
