...our spectrum, or at least speculated to be on our spectrum?

You see, I need to convince someone to let me join the leadership team for a campus ministry. If I can prove to him how far Aspies and the like are capable of going in life, then that could turn things around.

I'll start you off with Einstein: He was thought to "never be able to amount to anything" by one of his grade-school teachers.

Now, what are some other examples of anyone on/speculated to be on our spectrum who went on to contribute a lot to society, that was thought earlier on in life to have had too many shortcomings to do anything significant?

I dunno.
Ill point you to something you might research.

Dan Akroyd was born with tourette's syndrom and was diagnoised with Asperger's.

The tourettes syndrom had pretty much died down by the time he was 14.

Maybe if you delve into the early childhood of Dan Akroyd you might find teachers, or whomever who didnt think he would amount to much.
