Or he might get the idea that if he doesn't run, he'll be perceived as a p****. In that case, he'll run, and if he gets the Republican nomination... Obama will beat him, because people will realize just how much of an egotistical blowhard he really is, and just how crazy his platform is. But, it would be one of the ugliest presidential races in recent memory.
Or...
He runs, but fails to achieve the Republican nomination... after which he runs as an independent, and splits the conservative vote, allowing Obama to coast into a second term.

If The Donald runs:

1.} He may end up as the GOP's choice for vice-president.

2.} The Donald will run as a third-party candidate, a la Ross Perot,
which may give Obama a second term.

I'm not sure of that. Trump believes that Obama's economic policy is a recipe for economic collapse, so he might swallow his pride and not risk splitting the vote

Yep. Pretty funny joke. Although it would have been a lot funnier if he had at least continued the joke through the primaries.
