Told you the Californians would be the first to cause trouble. The police have clashed with the deadbeats in Oakland and from the looks of it, there is more violence to come. Some people are looking to raise hell and force certain issues on the table. For better or for worse, the upheavals of 2011/12 will define America for decades to come.

So far, the worst the Oakland protestors have been able to muster up is throwing some cans of paint. Their camp is gone and won't be allowed to be rebuilt, so they better stay on the sidewalks and obey city and state laws because the nail that sticks up is gong to get smacked down from here on out. OWS NYC (aka "Animal Farm") will likely partially unravel before the cops move in. It's amusing to read the news coming from there about their socialist commune taking a textbook wrong turn such social structures are notorious for.

One should not be too optimistic about how these fools will behave. It is getting cold and the sissies do not have what it takes to sleep on the streets when the pavement starts to freeze at night. They know that if they leave things as they are, the whole OWS movement is going to become the butt of late night talk show jokes for a long time to come. They will want some fireworks before giving up the ground and who knows what that will lead to.

Nah, the movement doesn't have that kind of steam built up on the west coast. I haven't even had any need to change any daily habits over them so far. If there will be a riot on the west coast, it will most likely be in LA but won't likely spread because that's just what people in LA do when they get bored.

It is always a mistake to underestimate how stupid ret*ds can be. These people want to change to world simply by parasitically taking up space . As others have pointed out, this is just the beginning. They will do whatever it takes to get the attention they crave.

Soon the protesters are going to say that Los Angeles puts the lawn before people. The problem that the folks down in SoCal have is that even in winter, it is still warm enough to sleep outdoors if you have a reasonably good sleeping bag. First Oakland, then Los Angeles and soon Sacramento will be hit.

With the line between peaceful protests and political violence long crossed, it will only be a matter of time before all out riots break out. The epicenter appears to be Oakland, but other cities are not far behind.

The source talks about a sit-in and people then being arrested on spurious conditions and a children's brigade to try and disrupt banking transactions.

Protesters were arrested as they held a sit-in at the headquarters of cable giant Comcast in Philadelphia. Military veterans marched in uniform in New York, angry at their dim job prospects. And parents and their kids, some in strollers, formed a “children’s brigade” to join the Oakland, Calif. rallies.[[i]

Truly this is not violent at all, unless you think that a sit-in is violent.

The authorities have been very patient, but as I have said before many times, some people seek to turn the entire Occupy movement violent. It is very naive to believe that in a crowd of thousands, everyone is an angel.

Especially if some of them are police officers.

Yes I am sure everyone participating in the protests is ret*d......it is perfectly legal to peaceably assemble, which is mostly what is going on there are some extremists obviously...but i don't think they represent the entire group. I guess I just don't see why everyone seems to have so much hate towards people for protesting about things they have an issue with.........in fact I think more people should do that.

Occupy Oakland protesters clash with police. Protesters started a large bonfire in the middle of a downtown street in Oakland Calif. (Nov. 2, 2011)

There's an old saying that goes "things have to get worse before they get better." All of this is culminating towards to the end of this system of things.

It may have been just a small group, but the violence in Oakland in the past few hours is a harbinger of a wider breakdown. People who seek to change the system wholesale - meaning they want a revolution - know that their objectives can only be achieved through violence. And anyone who believes that capitalism or corporatism is evil is necessarily a revolutionary.

Unfortunately, I am no longer some crack ball muttering madly to myself about impending social dislocation. You can all tell now from the march of events that social upheaval is coming. Please remember that many of these "revolutionaries" are going to be armed.

Well I can understand why people would want a revolution...if violence truly is the only way things will change, well then I guess I can't complain too much. Corporatism is pretty evil....its like a mix of capitalism and facism, as for capitalism there are some good elements of capitalism but its certainly not all good.

I prefer the idea of peacefully trying to change things but in this world? not sure if its very realistic.
