Inuyasha is busy. He asked me to post the present topic.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/liberal ... -or-jesus/

Quote:
The left-leaning American Values Network (AVN) believes that Christian voters need to choose between either Ayn Rand or…Jesus. According to AVN:

Prominent GOP leaders have praised Rand’s philosophy and beliefs. But Rand made it clear that you can’t follow her and Christ. The GOP budget, authored by Rand acolyte Paul Ryan, is the perfect example.

AVN claims that Rand’s teachings are a “direct contradiction to the Bible.” The organization takes particular issue with Ryan’s (and other GOP politicians’) endorsement of Rand. AVN says: “Paul Ryan can’t have it both ways, and neither can Christians.”

This is not the first time the organization has come out against conservatives. The Daily Caller sheds further light on the leftist positions the group has taken in the past:

AVN heavily pushed healthcare reform as a “moral values issue,” strongly supported the government’s stimulus efforts and promotes climate change legislation.

Of course, we have the typical inflammatory buzzwords, "LIBERAL!! !"; "Left-Leaning" (which helps our simple-minded readers to identify AVN as the enemy); "has come out against conservatives"; "leftist positions"; and then concludes with some issues for which the AVN clearly merits the naughty list.

So, whom do you choose? The atheist Ann Rand? Or Jesus?

I would love to see the liberal atheists forced to pick one of these choices.

That's part of why I limited it to these 2 choices.

Clearly all Christians should reject Ayn Rand. That was obvious before this group said so. But it was nice of them to point it out.

This is rather stupid - sounds like the radio station near here.

Rand and Bar Joseph are not diametric opposites and either / or choices. NOBODY is obligated to choose to follow either one. Whichever you chose there would be consequences. If you do NOT choose either of them there are consequences.

A Christian [as opposed to a party member required to be politically correct] who comes in contact with Rand ideas will take anything that may be good, fix anything that might be useful if fixed, and junk the junk.

Only a party member has to wear the uniform.

I'm more agnostic and don't necessarily accept the "liberal" label but anyways... I pick Jesus. Seems like Jesus was nicer than most of his later followers. The same can't be said of Ayn Rand. You just can't get any more "Ayn Rand" than Ayn Rand herself.

I am gunna throw in with Jesus.
although he both and Ayn are both minim
Ayn for denying the existence of the ruler.
Jesus for maintaining that the ruler has a form.
I can't hold that against them although technically I am also a mumar.
so I had a choice between a brother and a sister.
I choose Josh cuz he did not goy up his name to fit in.
unlike Alisa Rosenbaum it shows a lack of character.

Ah, I never knew that about Miss Rand. But, I never took any interest in her, before, either.

She married Frank O'Connor in 1931, so I will fault her for sticking with a fake name, rather than taking her husband's name, and going with Mrs. Alisa O'Connor.

Note that the Catholics are also quite left-wing on economic issues. Christianity as described in the Bible is utterly incompatible with modern American conservatism.

Belonging to a religion is a greater commitment than joining a party.

Now only to get the religious right to concede that point.

Conceded that He was not conservative. Nor liberal. Political terms have no, or should have no, bearing on Christianity.
