The title should be, 'rich people drink....'
Not 'liberals drink...'
Unless you mean to say that only liberals care about good-tasting coffee. I've never had it myself, but if someone offered me a free cup I'd try it.

Also, civet cats are not felines.

^this I agree with. It's the conservative right who deny spending on social programs and schools so they can spend the excess on themselves. Ever see a republican drive something that isn't an SUV?

True I suppose. I still can't help but see the look of horror in this little guy's eyes as he has his face held to his 10,000th meal of coffee beans.

I think techstepgenr8tion is talking about what "latte leftists" drink rather than rank and file working poor liberals, union activists, piss poor students, or starving artist leftists. As we all know, Country Club Conservatives don't waste money on expensive coffees, as it takes money away from their "illict elephant hunting with an elephant gun" account.

I think those beans are props, not the civet's meal. It's probably just freaked about being held down by the neck. Supposedly one of the factors that makes civet coffee so great is that they only eat the berries that are absolutely, perfectly ripe - which those beans are not.

Actually, scratch my earlier comment. I'm sure Country Club Conservatives would "pay $48 for a pound of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee because that’s what James Bond prefers".

The storm rages. The drifts pile higher. The lights flicker - will the power fail?

How long will the blizzard continue?

No.

A Country-Club Conservative would buy a thousand-dollar espresso machine to make a one-dollar cup of coffee from beans that were not harvested under any Fair Trade agreement.

I'm sorry, but WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??! !

Three explanations spring to mind, none of them definitive:

  • The "storm" of satricial posts on Wrong Planet.
  • The "storm" of ideologue bashing/praising posts on Wrong Planet.
  • The "storm" of contentious posts on Wrong Planet.
  • The "storm" of Master_Pedant posts with a vindictive edge to them.
  • The "storm" of banter in this specific thread.
  • A combination of some or all of the above points.

Well, which (if any) is it??! !

And then they'd buy lots Cuban cigars and Viagra for overseas trips. :P

I wouldn't spend $100 for *any* coffee. Who sells it for $100?

That tea kind of looks like radioactive sewage - Spiderman's pee.

Some people would say that it probably tastes better than normal green tea. If it gave me superpowers, I'd be up for it.

However, I wouldn't drink civet cat poo coffee and I'm very liberal.
