Does anyone else on this forum think that cremation is an evil satanic practice and should be banned outright? I am 35 years of age and have had this view since i was 8 years old. I just think it is a truly horrible thing to do the dead. Has anyone seen the pictures on the net of what it actually looks like when a body is being burnt, it is really frightening. I have had nightmares about it since i was 14. If anyone else feels the same way please leave a reply.

No, in fact I think its better then burying people because it takes up less room......not to mention I doubt a dead body cares much about what happens to it. If you don't want a cremation don't have one.

I suppose cremation or burying are better than some alternatives.

You know, if we just banned death, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

How is cremation worse than letting your body rot in the ground while it's eaten by woodworms for hundreds of years?

If someone wants to be cremated when they die, that's their choice. I personally don't like the idea, but I don't think it should be banned by any means.

Clearly some form of disposal of dead bodies is required for public health. Cremation is one of the cleanest methods and it does not waste valuable land as does burial. Next to cremation, burial at sea.

The only thing that wastes land with burial is the casket, headstone and permanent residence art of it. Just sticking the body in the ground is a pretty simple, direct, process with lots of natural decomposition and stuff.

Orchards instead of graveyards. Under every tree, a body. That's a nicer monument to the departed than some chunk of stone or a vase on the mantlepiece. "See Grandpa, even in death, you nurture the living!"

Honestly, I'd like to be placed somewhere nice up in the mountains. Let the animals pick me clean.

And when I die
Don't bury me at lll
Just pickle my bones
In alcohol.
And by my feet
Plant a snow white dove
To let the world know
I died for love.

I've always thought that I would like to be chopped up and thrown in the sea for the fish to eat

Prop me up beside the jukebox when I'm gone.

Fill my boots with sand and put a stiff drink in my hand.

Just let my headstone be a neon sign.

As a reminder of all my good times

Fix me up with a manniquinn, and I remember I like blondes.

I'll be the life of the party even when I'm gone!

I've read page 1 and page 7. I am going to assume that there is nothing relevant in pages 2 through 6.

If I missed anything important, it's my own damn fault for being closed minded.

If anything in my body is viable for transplant, let it be used accordingly. If anything is valid for teaching purposes, let it be used accordingly. Otherwise reduce me to ash and fertilize a small patch of cemetery.

I'd rather be turned into Alpo.
