How can Aspies be conservative except under duress?

It's very easy. I was raised conservative and I will remain conservative. Duress has nothing to do with it, and to suggest such a thing is actually rather insulting.

Just because you're on the spectrum that doesn't necessarily mean that you're smart.

I used to be politically conservative but have always been socially liberal. I grew up in a very conservative household but my attitudes gradually changed as my empathy increased.

Years ago I briefly supported a politically conservative party because of my stepdad's influence but stopped supporting them when I realized they wanted to bring back "petty apartheid" - something I never supported or was comfortable with.

what is petty apartheid? I wonder if it anything like the creeping fascism that has been inflicted upon amuuurica.

It refers to the obnoxious South African social apartheid laws such as separate swimming pools, parks and beaches, and the attempts of the right wing to preserve them at all costs.

They reckoned if you allow a single person of the wrong colour to swim in the same pool or swing in the park with your kid, all hell would break loose.

How’d you feel if someone posted calling liberals or democrats stupid?

apparently liberals who hold such a view don't realize how supremacist it is.

Happens all the time; particularly on this forum ("dumbocrap"? really?). How I feel about that might depend upon whether or not they can back up that notion with multiple supporting citations from reputable sources (Faux News, Infowars, and the White House doesn't count).
Other than ignorance and nasty ad hominems, they never seem to have any supporting evidence to offer.

I have no idea what your specific political leanings are, but your statement could have come straight out of Animal Farm.

Suggesting that either you haven't actually read "1984", or you didn't understand it.

I would say both the "extreme Left" and the extreme Right" both have a high potential for oppression of the "masses."

Marx had some nice theories about the "rising of the working classes," and "historical determinism." Wouldn't it be nice if the oppression of the elites and the "bourgeoisie" stopped? And that we can "share the wealth?"

The fact is----that the leaders of this communistic "new world order" will, inevitably, acquire the characteristics of that "bourgeoisie," and, in practice, this is just what happened in Communist China, the USSR, and other nations of a "communist" bent.

Same thing with the "extreme Right"---but there is no pretention towards "equality," though, and the "ascendency of the oppressed."

I say: Screw both of them!! !!
