For plasma donation the blood centers prefer folks with type AB blood. Their -
plasma- can be accepted by anyone with any blood type.
Platelets, plasma and red blood cells can be automatically extracted by a phoresis machine. RBC (red blood cells) can be donated one ever 28 days as opposed to whole blood donations we can be made one every 56 days.
