Glad you left out the part about Brer rabbit getting hisself entangled in the deadly Tar Baby. I still have nightmares about that.

Lord don't throw me in the briar patch
The tar baby bothers me too,I hate anything sticky.A gumdrop baby would be just as bad.

Yeppers..little too similar to the sticky insect and rodent traps for we'uns..lol. Hey now my Uncle Jim could not eat a meal without some januine Brer Rabbit syrup for the old dessert biscuit sopping chore. Its very good if you aint hand any. I also faithfully use Brer Rabbit Light Molasses for my grand prize winning chicken brine. Hoping Auntie Rhemus is getting a cut of the action...or at least her progeny. Now dont get me started on Aunt Jemima. Thanks.

We used both Brer Rabbit syrup and Aunt Jemima, she looked friendly and motherly.
Sticky traps bother me also,I'd rather die quick than in one of those.I use a "tin" cat,you can catch more than one mouse at a time and then release them.I'm tender hearted, mice remind me of the Beatrix Potter books.

Ebonics must be different in Arkansas than elsewhere

I'll kill mice if they become a nuisance but I'll do it humanely. Those sticky traps are not humane at all.

Maybe I'm thinking of some other bird cartoon ,but it seems like I remember one where the birds did have a different accent than that. They were using the term"boss" a lot and they were very jaunty.
No,I did not watch Fritz the Cat as a child.

Ok just watched the cartoon. The Magpies seem to have accents from Noo Yawk and Joisey.

Avenue Q (I think that's the name?) is downright amazing.

Ebonics was invented by guilt-wracked white liberals.

Dey wants to be fair minded.

Oh yeah.... lol

I love how awkward the bathtub scene is...and then you have the bulldog cop yelling "What's going on up there?!?!" Some things never change!
