In this video, I present a critical evaluation, as a sociologist of religion, of Steven Greer's technique of supposedly contacting extraterrestrials.

Why would you even evaluate this? When I first saw the title of your thread, I thought this was going to be about SETI techniques of using telescopes like the one at Arecibo to send signals into space, and that would of been a more interesting topic. I was however disappointed to find out that Steven Greer is a ufologist. One must not confuse SETI with ufology since at least SETI can be argued to have some merit scientifically, though a few people tend to disagree over whether it meets Popper's falsifiability criterion but it is debatable. Ufology on the one hand is completely pseudoscientific because there is absolutely no reliable whatsoever that evidence that suggests that extraterrestrials have visited Earth. On the other hand, SETI doesn't even make the claim that extraterrestrial intelligence exists.

Also, when your talk started going into stuff like telepathy and remote viewing, then I realised it was just talking about more pseudoscience.

Because I am a sociologist of religion. I mostly study new religious movements, including exopolitics.

I think SETI is bunk. When the question came up the Government took over, to search for the smog produced by alien cars.

We have a long history of writing, drawings, and reports of advanced technology showing up with creatures that do not look like us.

Project Bluebook, and SETI, denied all.

As all we have to work with are ape brains, any speculation of the unknown can take many forms. Do they come from distance, another dimension, or as the guy in Repo Man said, The Future.

SETI is not looking for time travelers, they are government materialist taking over a growing movement, something governments fear.

Asia has long considered the Earth as on one of the lower planes of existance, with some seven levels above where everyone is having a better time.

In just the next level up everyone eats, which is a Commie Political concept to the West. For a few Free Demons to become very rich and powerful, many must go hungry.

The Gods of the past were ideal beings, powerful, who did as they pleased, They were subversive to the worldly powers. Changing world views became religions that did overpower the world.

Governments fear new Gods. It is not the search without for other life and intelligence, it is the search within that brings earthly change. Governments want the destructive power of gods, but not the creative.

Times change, killing whales has gone from an industry, to a War Crime against other species. The use of the face of the earth is next, garden or desert. Imagine the Defense spending directed to reviving the soil, and increasing the life that grows there.

It is a clash of great and hidden powers fighting for control of the hive mind.

Jesus was the god of the declining Roman Empire, who said pay your taxes, and could be killed by the Roman State.

Buckey Fuller said, "No more second hand Gods."

The ETs told me that before we are worth contacting, we should do things like make a wide path from Canada to Mexico for the Butterflys and Humming Birds, showing we are willing to share life. If you are just destructive of all life, who would want to meet you?

It is not about have the right answers, it is about asking the right questions.

Nothing has the power of an idea who's time has come.

The broadcast is not about SETI. Greer's organization is CSETI (completely unrelated).

I am doing a sociological and historical analysis of the sources of Steven Greer's "contact protocols."
