Yes.
When a Christian calls me a friend, I literally believe that we're friends until they spread nasty rumors about me among their real friends.
When the pastor says that we're all children of God, I literally believe him until I see my 'sibling' behaving like they never knew their father.
Logic also dictates that when Christians that I have not seen for a while claim to have missed me, I should be able to recall numerous instances when they tried to contact me by email, snail-mail, telephone or in person. Either my memory has some severe discontinuities, or those Christians really don't miss me at all.
Finally, when I point out that the Bible passage that those Christians are using to justify their own racism, sexism, and other exclusionary practices has been taken wholly out of context, they logically assume that I am literally a tool of the devil.
Yeah ... literalism and logic really do tend to put a damper on religion ...
