Someone else has probably brought up this point, but this is why we shouldn't have ANY religious monuments at public buildings.

Funnily enough I've just started reading the French translation of Lovecraft's novel about this. Just finished "The shadow over Innsmouth" in French where Cthulhu is mentioned and the "fish monsters" are key to the plot. Not a bad novel. It must have been quite a horror story in its day.

Talk about the government overstepping its boundaries. However, keep in mind, there are plenty of strange religious symbols at the nation's capitol in Washington DC namely involving Free Masons.

It will be interesting to see how this drama plays out. Stay tuned.

Rosslyn Cathedral has some of the symbols.The Masons built many cathedrals in Europe.
