Like the subject says - are we always conscious in the same universe?

Of course we are not "always conscious" - consciousness is itself a discontinuous phenomenon. The question is rather, consider the set of all intervals during which we (people, or any given subset of people) are conscious. Are all such intervals contained within the same universe?

Science assumes this to be true by default, via correlating data-sets resulting from discontinuous observations, the assumption being that the discontinuous observations are super-continuous by virtue of occurring within the same universe. But this assumption can never be proven valid (see Problem of Induction).

Yet we all have access to a potent counter-example. The universe in which we experience dreams is most assuredly not the universe in which we we experience waking life. Science cannot evaluate "experience" directly - psychology, medicine, neuro-imaging, sleep studies, etc. all attempt to provide maps of experience, but the map is not the territory.

For the mathematically-inclined, if you consider the Universe (capitalized to refer to the universe-of-consensus, the object of science's assumption) to be an (extremely sophisticated!) algebraic structure U embedded within a super-universal topological space S. Then might the "dreamscape" be said to consist of pockets of S external to U?

We as human beings only perceive a tiny part of the reality of the Universe.

Some of us experience more of it.

Some of us experience less of it.

And the view changes like a River through the course of life OF DROUGHT IN BETWEEN OR MONSOON OF FULLER OR LESSER PERCEIVED EXPERIENCE OF THE UNIVERSE AS IS.

The Universe is an ocean of reality and we are but a drop of water, relatively speaking, which CAN GROW LARGER OR SMALLER ACROSS DISTANCE AND SPACE OF WHAT we experience in life, all the nows that we ARE GRANTED to do it.

I enjoy expanding my view of the Universe and I have developed empirically measurable ways to do it.

When they say that humans only use 10 percent of their brains PER JUST A SAYING AND NOT AN EMPIRICALLY MEASURABLE PHENOMENON they are not talking about JUST HOW THE BRAIN IS USED THEY ARE ALSO TALKING ABOUT THE WAY IT IS USED.

AND SCIENCE CANNOT MEASURE THAT YET.

SCIENCE now shows that the entire body per the nervous system and related systems is A THINKING BODY PER TOTAL PERCEPTION OF WHAT IT CAN 'SEE' OF THE universe.

And ACTIVE physical intelligence is DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY RELATED AND RESPONSIBLE FOR BOTH SENSORY INTEGRATION AND EMOTIONAL REGULATION.

THERE IS A ENTIRE HUMAN UNIVERSE OF POTENTIAL TO EXPERIENCE GREATER OF LESSOR DEPENDING on one's INNATE, INSTINCTUAL, INTUITIVE ABILITY TO ENHANCE THIS REAL FULLER POTENTIAL OF PERCEPTION OF MIND AND BODY TO MORE FULLY 'SEE' THE UNIVERSE AS IS.

SOME FOLKS GET TO SEE very little or ANY OF some PARTs OF THE UNIVERSE, SADLY as it MAY BE.

AND Nah, this IS NOT EVEN WITHIN THE PURVIEW OF MATH OR PHYSICS AS THOSE SCIENCES CAN NEVER MEASURE WHAT CAN BE FULLEST HUMAN BEING in perception and experience of the reality of the Universe as is.

ONLY HUMAN BEING CAN DO THAT, IN REAL LIFE NOW.

I'VE lived a life like a grain of sand and like a galaxy of being relatively speaking IN just ONE LIFE.

THERE ARE MANY DIMENSIONS OF KNOWING THAT SOME NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY or ability TO EVEN TOUCH.

Particularly, if they give up and never ever EVEN SEEK A FULLER VIEW OF WHAT CAN BE A MUCH BIGGER Universe for those who come to 'SEE' IT THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF GREATER HUMAN BEING in all potential ways of Human Perception of IT.
