They have only two modes of attack: pretend complete ignorance or pretend omniscience. Only one is remotely plausible.

The correct response is "You can't be a reverse white knight because men can't be damsels".

I would've thought the reverse of white knighting would be joining in the other side and attacking. I don't really get it, sorry.

REALLY? :D

Do you have a plan? Do you know of someone who has a plan? Will this be a sneak media attack?

The fact is most (I was going to say all but stopped myself) of the gun owners I know would not think of bloody (your word) rebellion or revolution. If it was the Left that imposed the restrictions (who else?) then Trump types would be screaming all types of dire threats (you're not one of them are you?) that would mean nothing.

The fact is, if there is no organized revolution then your choice is to bushwhack innocent people...pretty ugly and certainly not going to help retain gun ownership rights. And I know you're not part of this group. The reality is that choices are few.

Actually I think the gun owners will do the same thing I did in Chicago during the riots after Martin Luther King's assassination. At the time it was illegal for any civilian to carry in Chicago...it just wasn't allowed. My job required me to work frequently in riot prone areas, so I (and everyone in the same situation who I was familiar with) just stuck a gun in my pocket and kept my mouth shut. I don't think anyone was arrested for this during the period after the riots.

Let's say w're talking about a nation-wide gun ban. Won't happen but I think that's what was implied by Mr_Miner.
Has the war on drugs been bloodless? There are more gun owners than dopers so I think we can safely multiply whatever blood has been spilled on account of the war on drugs a few times at least.

I have no intention of living on constant fear of the cops swooping down on me over my guns which will not be surrendered. I have that "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees" mindset and I probably have a lot of company.
A hard line will have to be drawn somwhere...

This
"The day anyone tries to ban guns in America is the day you'll really have something to cry about, that will turn bloody"
sounds like you're suggesting, through the word "tries", that there will be a resistance to an attempt to banning guns which may even lead to death ("die on my feet"...)..NO?

1st: It was Dox that said that, not me, but I'm of the same opinion on this matter.
2nd: There aint gonna be no gun ban in the foreseeable future. If there was it would be by type (e.g. those scary black semi-auto rifles and carbines wrongly labeled assault rifles, handguns, .50 caliber rifles, etc). The political climate now isn't right for any kind of ban, no matter how badly some people and thier politicians want one.

Please be clear about what your'e talking about. I'm not into solving puzzles.
What innocent people and who's going to be killing them? If such a thing does turn bloody it's likely that the government's minions will be the ones spilling blood first then any armed reaction to that will be their fault for starting it. If you stick your dick in a hornet's nest expect to have the $hit stung out of it.

As I said before, I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees and I do mean that. Take that to mean whatever you want and if you'd rather live on your knees that's fine too because I'm sure the new world will need serfs and slaves to bow and scrape while they're not tilling the fields...

I did say that it takes a high level of accuracy to be a good hunter. If a lung shot is okay with you, then that's you.

I don't have magical thinking about guns. I notice enough of my mistakes to expect that I have to exercise a lot of caution to beat the odds. Also, all my guns are functional and for killing food, although one is rather cute.

I like to introduce people to guns. It gives me a chance to teach them gun safety, by the book. I love the look on their faces when they shoot a milk jug and I explain that's what happens to any liquid filled bag. They're cool, but the only problem they solve is a lack of meat.

Please let me suggest, respectfully, that you are not what's known in hunting circles as a thoughtful hunter, certainly no sportsman. Your claim of instant death to your prey is ludicrous.

You would have us believe your hold is so steady, your equipment so perfect, your understanding of environmental conditions/issues in play faultless that you would risk crippling or else-wise damaging and leaving in pain an innocent animal. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You're not The Lone Ranger or any other imaginary person that can not miss what they're shooting at. But you'll do the un-sportsman like action of taking a foolish shot to bolster your ego?????

Actually I have doubts whether you've done much or any hunting. Who would ever teach someone or allow someone to hunt this way????? The lung shot is a proven stopper and quickly and certainly ends the animal's life....you're cruel proposal does not. Please no "I never miss...I am a dead-eye shooter" nonsense. Please stop spreading foolish, and potentially crippling, uninformed advise. Thank you.

From what I've read so far I seriously doubt he's ever been in the woods with a gun. Well, nothing indicates a hunter's experience. One of the new angles of the anti-gun crowd is to claim to be from a family with a long tradition of hunting and/or be hunters themselves. They think it impresses people.
These people, of course:
1. Are excellent shots and never miss.
2. Don't own an "assault rifle" and see no need for anyone else to since they serve no "legitimate sporting purpose".
"My grampa has hunted every game animal on every continent and has fought and died heroically in every battle from Bunker Hill to Fallujah and he thinks assault rifles should be banned. If you disagree with him then you're a TROLL! !!"
3. Dropped out or never belonged to the NRA due to the NRA's uncompromising opposition to "sensible gun regulation".
4. Don't believe in carrying a handgun for defense and don't think anyone else should be allowed to either.
5. If you're not a hunter they you don't "need" any gun.

These people really need to work on their act if they want to have any chance at convincing anyone but the most uninformed...

LOLOLOL TOO funny----LOVE it!!

It reminds me of a local law firm commercial: "If you or a loved one has been injured or died, because of medical malpractice, call us at 1-877-ambulance-chaser..." LOL I guess cell-phone signals can transmit from 6-feet-under, now----GOOD to know!! LOL

I guess a serious hunter would be someone like those yahoos in Texas I mentioned. I never went hunting with them, fortunately, and I missed out on some great hunts, in a certain sense. They shot doves until they got tired, then went and picked up the bag limit and left the rest. Shot deer, took the backstrap, and threw the rest into a canyon.

One of them was allegedly a really crack shot, but that doesn't matter to me if they behave like that. One guy who had a portable bar setup got hired for a party, only men, drinking and shooting. I checked with another person who was there, and he didn't find it unusual, although he agreed it was insanely unsafe. The bartender certainly felt unsafe every time someone didn't pay attention to the end of their barrel, which happened often.

So, no, I didn't do a lot of hunting recently in Texas.

Revolutions don't always turn into shooting civil wars, if 1% of the American people took up arms against the government then that would be over 3 million people which would be larger than any military in the world. I do not believe that America soldiers or American police would take the orders to fire on American citizens, if people really rose up then they would be right there along side them if not the ones leading it. They take their oath to constitution seriously and so should any potential despot, sic semper tyrannis. Remember that there's a 100 guns for every person in this country, so I dare you to come and take it. There's a lot more of us than there are of them, they could never win.

You know as well as anyone the biggest army doesn't always win.

I'm sure they wouldn't b ordered to fire on random groups of civilians but on those who are firing back.

I know they'll never ban guns in America but if they did ther would be an amendment to repeal the second amendments (never going to happen) and the constitution they took a oath to uphold would then include that.

Hate who, unethical "slob" hunters? Yep, they're out there and I do hate 'em but I don't see what your point was in bringing them up here. Call me thick (I don't care) but I don't see how it's germane to this thread.
And, no; I'm not the needlee but the needler.
