What do you think about former communist countries, former Eastern Block? What do you think about communist secret police, like Stasi?

Edit
I'm from Poland, the Polish communist secret police the SB (Służba Bezpieczeństwa -Security Service) was considered the one of the most "efficient" only East German Stasi was better, but they ware Germans and they are know for their attachment to work and quality service xD

Did you know that both Stasi and our Polish SB employed people as young as 12 -15 and as old 100 and over.

See if someone was involved in anti party activity, and have teenage son, they kid have sex with his GF or even with BF and because was gay? Secret Police shoot porn flik with him (now it would be consider child porn xD ) and have offer that cannot be refused either he would gather intel for them or his mom and dad see what he do when they are out house? :-)

The same goes for adult specialized women agent seduce dissident, than blackmail guy that if he would not work for them his wife would know the truth (they ware also gigolo agents that seduce influential woman, to blackmail them  )

There was even case when woman secret agent married famous Polish historian and spied on him

What do I think about them? I think that as long as they have no clue I exist and we stay at least 3,000 miles, 4,800km, apart, they will be easy to get along with.

A tinge of sadness, having thrown off the shackles of the USSR, most leapt into the arms of EUSSR, but I suppose there was no better option at the time. Also some admiration recently, they are putting the EU's gonads next to the fire when it comes to refugees and engaging in overt nationalism. I look on with interest.

Something like that always comes along in Left-wing states. Western Europe is well on its way to having its own Stasi. British police already break down doors at 4am if you say something politically incorrect (anti-party activity) on Twitter.

I give secret policing and organized blackmail a pretty firm thumb-down/dislike. I'm trying to think of whether there's a place anywhere where I'd condone it, no luck so far on that.

LOL EUSSR
Many people in my country joke that we have not joined the EU unnecessarily, because in fact it is the Socialist Union of the European Republics (soviets  )

That the European Union is a beautiful idea but it was hijacked by cultural Marxists

You profile say you are British, one of our Polish Politicians said, that Poland should act like Britain with Brexit, and we should do our own PolExit, that EU is really Holy Roman Empire of German nation with Chancellor Merkel as Empress, that within EU only German and French interest are matter that rest of countries was treated and always will be teared as 2nd class member state :(

Maybe is truth :?:

I think those tendancies were there from the beginning, ideas long predating the first treaty. This man's writings had quite a lot of influence.

There is truth in it, but it's not a German plot, if anything it's an American plot (see CIA connections in the video below). The Germans, guilt-ridden because of their history, have very little interest in ruling. They truly desire the partnership ideal. They have the most influence because of the nature of the country, its size, position and economic strength. One way or another Germany will be the central power in Europe for the foreseeable future, whether the EU exists or not.

As for second class member state, again there is truth in it. Not because the French and the Germans are trying to keep you down, but due to realities of power, money and politics. EU-style political and economic association with huge powers like Germany is going to slowly but surely siphon political and economic power away from Poland and the Eastern bloc, as it has done in the UK. In the same way capital cities form in countries, capital countries have formed in the EU. These are natural tendencies, not necessarily designed.

I think PolExit is quite likely, they aren't going to let this refugee issue go away. They will either force your government to accept refugees (likely leading to the government leaving the EU) or your government will refuse and be kicked out. :D

Heres a lecture you might enjoy touching on the American origins of the EU (part of their psuedo-empire) and why Germany dominates, and the history of European power struggles and how the same old struggles that played huge roles in the two world wars are still alive today and driving the European Union into conflict.

I wonder what would be if most of countries that are still within EU if Donald Tusk (our Polish beloved ex-prime minister that most of us Polish people would love to spit in his face  ) official mailbox would be spammed with Article 50 notification letters

You Brits would leave EU for good, but did you know that British born eurocrats would remain their posts even if you officially leave EU?
Once eurocrat always eurocrat

From what you describe, it sounds a lot like COINTELPRO.

Nothing quite so seditious I think when it comes to the EU's creation. The desire came from the same place, but spies aren't needed as much when tactical cash will do. There are rumours though of such activities later, particularly in France during the days when De Gaulle was still around. He was on again off again when it came to the the treaties that would go on to become the EU and it seems supported them only so far as they could help France and Europe be free of both American and Russian influence. He was also not very fond of NATO, another American power-projection tool. So it wouldn't surprise me.

De Gaulle was for his very own concept with he called Europe Homelands, This concept was in direct contrast to the idea of the United States of Europe, a national construct based on the United States, with the only difference being that it was more of the collectivist ideals of the former Soviet Union rather than the individuallism and free spirit of the founding fathers of the United States.

De Gaulle's ideas were based also on the United States, but the real ones before the Civil War, because you have to know that Confession had its sins to be nasty racists, but it only served to the federalist who used the war to transform the United States from a voluntary union of individuals. the United States, a Personal union under the President of the United States, in which each every American State can at any time withdrawal, into a real union in which one you are in you're stay forever like in sect or cult

Unfortunately, in the direction of a real union the EU is going :(

I think the communist secret police, as the secret police of any totalitarian political systems, were pretty despicable.
I wouldn't worry about Germany trying to rule over Poland through the EU, or the United States, for that matter.
