The last time I took this I broke it. It doesn't go that far.

Center left: check (though this puts me to the far left by contemporary American standards)
More libertarian than authoritarian: check.

Seems about right.

I noticed that they updated their questions....

I took the test twice to see if it made much difference...

It didn't really...

First try:

Economic Left/Right: 1.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.28

Image

Second try:

Economic Left/Right: 2.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.46

I still think some of the questions are poorly worded, though... Several conflate "Is" and "Ought" issues into the same question, making it difficult to provide a meaningful answer... Other questions force you to artificially choose between positions may not be opposites in the real world...

That being said, any attempt to categorize political beliefs into neat boxes will *always* involve a great deal of simplification, and since I end up roughly where I see myself, I suppose I shouldn't be too harsh wrt. the methodology...

That test has always been questionable at best. It tends to skew results in a specific direction; mainly "downward" on the graph it produces.

Seems about right. I've drifted left quite a bit in the last few years, a more subtle quiz would probably put me a little closer to the line.

My score is usually dead center. This time, I changed several answers based on emerging geo-political facts. But, I am still pleased with the new result.

Despite the update, that's pretty much exactly where it placed me the last time I took the quiz.

It's certainly not a perfect quiz, but adding the necessary nuance to make it completely accurate would require a questionnaire that takes days to complete and which requires human assessment.

This is me.

I think some of the questions were dumb and didn't make sense. I might have to take it again - I answered some of the questions differently than I would have when I was in my 20's.

I took what seems to be the same test (someone linked it here years ago).

It put me in the lower left (similar to MDD123).

That time the test had dots on the grid for actual political figures ( like Stalin, and Mugabe)to help judge your political location.

It put me almost right on top of both Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama. Not bad company.

And nowhere near Mugabe. :D
