Because I'm clearly having a mental breakdown and Wolfram87 and funeralxempire respond with "deal with it!".

I don’t think it was at all clear that you were having a mental breakdown. Maybe you should be hanging out in the Haven instead of PPR.

Nah I just need to quit coming to Wrong Planet. This forum will soon be just as dead as every other forum anyways. Alex hasn't even updated his website in forever.

If I want to successfully go back to being a recluse I need to get over my being conditioned to feel like I HAVE to socialize with people.

Oh and for the sake of being on topic, yeah magick is fake. I used to believe in it and even had my own altar set up. I must have been very delusional.

I must’ve been delusional to believe in some of the crazy, fundamentalist stuff I used to. 8O I was raised to believe that I had to be very careful not to summon demons, like being cautious when buying used furniture.

What were you trying to accomplish with your altar?

I used to be quite into earth magic... ley lines, stone circles, the megalithic yard and all that. The village where I live now attracts a lot of... erm... unusual people due to the convergence of ley lines here. The village celebrates the pagan festival of Imbolc each year. It's pretty spectacular, I must say.

Beware of the haunted sofa!

The problem with demon possessed sofas is that demons get bored just hanging out in them after awhile. After buying a sofa off of someone playing with a ouija board, having a seance, or doing something else weird, the next thing you know lights will be flickering, doors will be slamming, voices will be moaning - that sort of stuff.

Demons are primarily interested in flickering lights and the noise of stuff banging against windows, though. One would almost think that such phenomena was the result of windy/stormy weather...

Nah! Better burn the couch!

That sounds like fun!

I’d take a pagan festival over a Bible trivia game (*shudders*) any day of the week!

First off, I think your idea of what the word "clearly" means needs some adjustment. Secondly, you are free not to deal with reality at your leisure, but it's not a course of action I would recommend.

Thirdly, if you want unconditional agreement and support for your snide remarks, you won't find it in PPR.

I hear it all the time. Maybe it’s a regional thing.

Do you use the word “redd?” It’s an older word that basically means “to clean.”

My husband's crazy aunt used to believe her fridge was haunted because it became noisy at night.
A short investigation using a voltmeter demonstrated quite serious overvoltage in her apartament at night, when the power grid load is lower. That was likely to make an old fridge noisy.

I guess she should call an exorcist instead?

She should’ve called an exorcist or bought a new fridge.

Probably Satan was enabling you guys to find a rational explanation. We all know that rationalism is bad, anyway...

That makes perfect sense!
... wait, if something makes sense it drives us dangerously close to rationalism... it's a trap!
