My own unique twist on this quote from Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones describes how I pretty much feel about God, most days.

Me: "God has no mercy, that's why he is God!"

Christian: "So you don't believe in God?"

Me: "I sort of believe in him, I just don't like him very much."

What about the concept of a creative being who started life off?

Or maybe it's his followers who I really don't like? The same people who have burned homosexuals and heretics and 'witches' alive at the stake, used their archaic textbook to justify sexism and slavery, and commited genocide many times throughout history.

I don't see much genuine "love" in this religion. What I see is hatred and cruelty that nowadays has been sugarcoated by new age liberals who refuse to give up their religous beliefs.

Yeah, God is cruel. Or is it the people who wrote the bible who are cruel?

I always see gods as personifications of nature.

I believe in God. I feel his presence and I read the bible and pray every day. I also do bible study with one of my cousins friends.

What are your thoughts on the genocide of Jericho?

It's terrifying to think about, even if it only ever makes its presence known by snuggling us after we die.

One of the worst thing I think I ever heard an NDE'er say was that they saw time slow down, mathematics in every moment, and realized that absolutely every moment of life is perfect and that everything's exactly where it's supposed to be. It doesn't take long for the implications of that to turn your stomach inside out. Simple hypermania? I hope but.... who knows if we're that lucky.

Thoughts on God?

Simultaneous omnipotence and omniscience is self-contradictory.

If only I could download all my thoughts and experiences of my life in regards to this subject so you lot can delve in and take out some gems! I don't know how to put things into words to show you that there is so much more, and I personally have hardly scratched the surface! Oh I have seen miriacles! Things that just can't happen or I could dream up without Gods intervention.
But the journey starts by asking questions... And asking questions to God. Yes, question each other, but sometimes, only God himself can reveal the answers!

Freud's psychoanalytic perspective viewed religion as the unconscious mind's need for wish fulfillment. Because people need to feel security and to absolve themselves of their own guilt, Freud believed that they choose to believe in God, who represents a powerful father-figure.
