Carbon tax- a good or bad thing?

This has been proposed by Dieter Helm , who was in the same house as me at public school but was a year above me .

Taxing your very existence. Taxing your need to breathe. A regressive rather than a progressive tax. A global wealth redistribution vehicle.

Perhaps I would be in favor of it if I was part of the permanent ruling class. Otherwise, not so much.

Making one's industry less competitive is good for other countries.
