A simple tax rate formula that applies to everyone, everywhere, all of the time, and under all conditions; based on income that starts at 0% at or below the “Poverty Level” up to a maximum tax rate of less than 100%; with no deductions at all, whatsoever. A typical tax return form would then look something like this:

Taxable Calendar Year is from 00:00 hours UTC on January 01 to 24:00 hours UTC on December 31 of the same year.

1. Enter gross income for taxable calendar year here: ________.

2. Calculate income tax, and enter amount here: ________.

Pay income tax determined from line 2 no later than 100 calendar days from end of taxable calendar year, or face severe penalties and interest.

Also, if corporations are to be treated like people, then their gross incomes would be treated exactly the same, with no deductions for depreciation of assets or subsidiary losses.

Mandate 52 deductions from checks....so people don’t have to pay monumental taxes at year’s end.

Elimimate student loan debt, and make (public) colleges free.

that beer ice cream was more popular. and that many more drugs including painkillers, be OTC [but vetted directly by a pharmacist, as is the SOP in many countries except for america].

:) yeh, if they wanna perpetuate the legal fiction of personhood, let 'em pay taxes like persons. i would do away with amateur juries in most cases, or give the accused the choice of a jury trial or an adjudication by a trio of professional jurists.

Corporations would receive high taxes

Reinstate the luxury tax for the rich

Automobile usage would be curtailed in favor of bicycles

National speed limit dropped to 40mph rural routes, 60mph state highways. Gasoline motor cars could then be built with smaller engines and lighter construction a la Ford Model A, and the electric car would be able to run further on a charge, stimulating alternative power.

The subwoofer would be banned in all public settings except concerts, bars, and EDM dance halls

Muzak elevator music would be silenced once per hour on the hour for thirty minutes in all public places.

Alternative energies would be subsidized, including mechanical devices.

Schools would have sunlight.

The rich would not be the only ones with ability to use nature. There would be opportunity for people to enjoy pleasant surroundings.

Disposable goods would be forbidden, including "fast fashion." Fast food would be considerably different...it would be eaten wrapped in paper as in England. Household appliances produced to last no more than five years would be taxed. Durable goods would replace consumer goods.

The AM broadcast band would be opened up once again to entertainment programming: not boomer music and talk shows. This would enable crystal (non-powered) radio receivers to be usable once again for headphone use.

There would be encouragement of alternatives to the smart phone as there are not enough resources to make this emblem of wasteful consumer America.

I would repeal no-fault divorce.

I would make distilling spiritous liquors absolutely legal at home.

Building permits would be reduced so people could build on their own property.

If you lived off-grid (without a gasoline generator) you wouldn't have property taxes.

There would be no treating humans as disposable: babies, fetuses even, children, teens, young adults, workers, grandparents, old people, the sick, the whatever--it's all part of humanity.

Ocean liners and rail travel would be a thing again as fewer airplanes would be up.

i would eliminate speed limits, replacing them with recommended prima facie speeds. all new road construction would minimize the use of conventional intersections.

I'd change the spelling to:
<Avert your eyes, Kortie>
"America".

From what I have heard/seen, the health care system in America is shocking and had been used in the last Australian erection to try and scare the constituents into voting against the conservatives.

since the conservatives won, are they making noises about doing away with universal care and replacing it with care only for the wealthy?
