And while we are at it, how about we force everyone with the first, last, or middle name 'Lee' to change their names?

...There's actually a lot of Lees in my family.

Does that mean that we haft ban "Enter the Dragon" starring Bruce Lee?

At the rate we are going that happening would not surprise me.

Would they ban Enter the Dragon because of the 'Grand Dragon' of the KKK or because of the fact that it's a kung-fu movie starring a Chinese actor and Trump and Pompeo decided that they hate anything Chinese? :chin:

Everyone knows our country music sucks...

I cannot say too much about the current product, which I am not familiar with, but I am in AWE of much "Golden Age" (say, 1950-79) Country music. I think Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Conway Twitty, etc. put out a product that often stands up to the best of Motown or Classic Rock (both of which I adore).

I get that you were probably kidding, btw :jester:

Yes I kinda was, but I'm personally not a fan of modern country music. You're right the older songs were better.

But he was clearly named after Robert E. Lee that evil racist slave-owning traitor of a general!! ! Therefore we must force him to change his name and discount anything that he has contributed to this country!

In fact we should do the same to Harper Lee the author of "To Kill A Mockingbird" aswell! :nerdy:

Actually, the E. in Robert E. Howard stood for, "Ervin," his mother's maiden name.

If they want to acknowledge and respect facts, then they should. But when have loons on either side of the aisle ever done that?

Not that I support the Confederate flag or slavery and racism, but this ironic political cartoon seems perfect. :P

I was referring to his name being "Lee".

Though I doubt that he was named after Robert E. Lee.

I doubt that he is related to Robert E. Lee either.

Though the film director Spike Lee might well be descended from slaves owned by Whites related to Robert E. Lee. Slaves often took the names of their slavemasters.

What about the Hoodoo and Appalachian Witchcraft? Or am I the only one who cares about folk magick? :skull:

I often wonder if my great grandmother was into it. My Mom said that she used to cure her warts as a little girl by buying them off with pennies. Apparently that's an old Appalachian folk remedy.

Mom used to do "witching the warts" by using fire instead of pennies. Tracing the shape of your hand onto a piece of paper, and then marking where your warts are located on the hand drawing, and then burning a hole in the paper at those locations. Usually the whole paper just caught fire, and we had to stamp it out on the floor. But back in the Thirties she had relatives in some town in Kentucky that might have been in the Applachians, and that might be where mom got that piece of lore from.
