Well, hell, of course they want Biden. They know he'll serve the Military Industrial Complex well, just like Obama, who took us from two to seven wars in the ME.

Biden's numbers are now substantially lower than Hillary's were at this point in 2016. Most people don't have any enthusiasm for this spud. Trump has a better shot, I'd say, than Biden does of winning.

Perhaps if the Dems actually made an effort to earn our votes, that situation might change. But they won't, because they're too busy serving their corporate masters.

Still see no evidence of Biden's alleged speech impediment looking back at speches as recent as 2012.

Evidence Please;

Current Polls Still Show Biden Outdoing Clinton
At this Point, in the Election Year 2016, Nationally, by 3 Percentage points...

i'm Not Particularly Enthused by Biden Either; little Charisma;

But me does know 'A Real Devil' When me Sees him and or her...

i'm at least, 'Street Smart' Enough, to Spot a Psychopathic Weak Narcissist... (comb-over-bleached-blonde-clue)

Just by the way 'They' express themselves; Still Maintaining (me) That Autistic Empathy Savant Skill, Ironically...

Biden is still A Cog in

Alright, I will retract my statement about Biden fairing worse than Biden, 'cause I am not finding the polling data a political commentator claimed existed.

Yes, I am not supporting either candidate. I've had enough of our crappy one-party system.

As of today, Biden vs Trump is doing worse than Clinton vs Trump in the battle ground states.

Joe Biden has a well-documented lifelong speech impediment.

Seemed much more like a person unable to hold a coherent train of thought: I've never come across someone with a speech impediment who kept changing what they were trying to say that much. Even stranger, he was reading from a teleprompter, so it wasn't as though he needed to think about what he was saying or needed to say.

Would you have any links to video from 2+ years ago where he speaks in a similar way, and where his "speech impediment" affects him to a similar extent?

As a side note, it will be interesting to see how badly this "speech impediment" affects him during the debates.

That video is ten seconds of stuttering. It’s selectively plucked from a long video by someone with a transparent agenda.

It’s trivial to look up long videos where he clearly maintains a train of thought. For example, his second answer in this interview: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nbnJ5pTsP6o - again, a video where the stutter is evident on several occasions but no evidence of confusion.

Or there is this video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AYp6EBsFZ68

(These were the first two videos when searching for “Joe Biden interview”)

Why aren’t there these “gotcha” videos from before he started campaigning for President? Well that answers itself. In 2008 YouTube was only just starting to become a thing and Biden’s campaign didn’t get much attention. As VP he got more attention, as the favourite and then the presumptive nominee he’s been a huge target for opponents acting in bad faith like never before. There are articles talking about his speech impediment and tendency to make gaffes like this one: https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-des ... -explained but not the same silly “gotcha” videos.

First video of Joe Biden from 2008 I could find. Haven’t watched the whole thing, but check out 5:05:
Quote:
As I’ve said many times, you build a Buick Skylark in my home state of Will- my town of Wellington, Delaware, where they have a, er, um, a, er, um, a General Motors place, and you build one, same products, same materials, same productivity, same UAW, you build one in Ontario Canada, you can sell one in Ontario Canada for 14, 15, 16% less than the one you sell in Delaware.

In a speech about healthcare, he goes on a tangent about cars, starts to call Wilmington a state, mispronounces the name of his hometown, stutters for several seconds, and slurs “Ontario Canada”. And the car in question hadn’t been manufactured for ten years. And it was manufactured in Michigan, not Delaware or Ontario. Imagine if he did that today.

Biden for his part says that he makes mistakes when he is tired and denies it is related to his speech impediment. That may be true. But he’s never been a flawless speaker and I don’t see any evidence of clinical cognitive decline. Normal ageing, yes, but he’s clearly still sharp.

Just saw a video from the 2012 VP debate. Imagine this clip from 2:30 taken out of context today:

Well, it seems someone who has experience working with Mr Biden also noticed a decline, rather than a "speech impediment":

Quote:
Joe Biden’s former White House stenographer said the vice president’s public speaking ability has deteriorated significantly since leaving office to the point where he’s "not the same Joe Biden."

"It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017," Mike McCormick, who worked as a White House stenographer for 15 years and with Biden from 2011 to 2017, told the Washington Free Beacon in an interview. "He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago."

"He doesn’t have the energy, he doesn’t have the pace of his speaking," McCormick said. "He’s a different guy."

McCormick’s recent book Joe Biden Unauthorized recounts his time working with Biden and takes a critical look at the former vice president, including the time he says Biden was "humiliated" by Russia's Vladimir Putin in 2011.

McCormick—who often traveled with Biden and transcribed his speeches, public conversations with foreign leaders, and off-the-record media briefings for the official White House record—said the vice president had a talent for connecting with audiences when he was in office and almost always veered off script from his pre-written speeches. Biden’s physical stamina and cognitive health have come under scrutiny during the 2020 election, due to a series of speaking appearances in which the 77-year-old has appeared to lose his train of thought, struggled to finish a sentence, or forgotten where he is.

"He’d just make a big joke out of it, and go straight from the hip. And notice, he’s not doing that anymore," he said. "He read that [Democratic National Committee speech] verbatim … it’s not Joe Biden anymore."

The fact a stenographer who worked with Mr Biden for 6 years has noticed such a change indicates that a "speech impediment" is much less likely than some other problem causing the difficulties he appears to be having.
