Started the Sixties in Kindergarten, and ended it in highschool. So I remember enough of it to remember it.
Remember it quite well actually. Each year of the decade is quite vivid to me because of how society evolved.
The early sixties were like the black and white part of the wizard of oz movie. And the late sixties are like when the movies changes to color. Hair styles, music styles, movies, etc evolved so much over the course of the decade.
It was like now, but it wasnt like now. The only way I can sum it up.
In a nutshell - the culture wars started in Sixties. Then in the Seventies things calmed down. And we are now starting back where we left off. But in a worse situation.
There was polarization, and extremism. But there has never been time like RIGHT now (in this election year)in which folks report that the very act of talking about politics emotionally stress folks like now.
So if you, the original poster, had been alive in 1968 it would be hard to say whether or not you would be as stressed by the politics of then as now.
