Is there really rock solid evidence he wasn't carrying other weapons? you are going with his defence team's claim that he "innocently" obtained one gun from his friend.

But...The authorities found Rittenhouse in possession of 2 rifles and Investigators have not revealed whether one or both of the rifles were fired by Rittenhouse, or somebody else, during the destruction in Kenosha that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake. There could be further legal complications for the teenager if he was found to have transported the guns across the state line. My understanding is this is still under investigation
https://abc7chicago.com/kenosha-shootin ... e/6406156/

Looks like you "jumped the gun" Bric

Your source would be more convincing had it included a date...

The first reference I found with a date, from almost a month ago:
Quote:
"Kyle did not carry a gun across state line," L. Lin Wood said in a tweet Friday morning. "The gun belonged to his friend, a Wisconsin resident. The gun never left the state of Wisconsin." Wood is part of the Texas-based #FightBack Foundation Inc. that is raising money for Rittenhouse's defense.

I haven't heard any changes to this since then, nor have charges been laid indicating this would be incorrect.

Nice try.

Ummm that's still the attorney for Rittenhouse Lin Wood making the claim though? its true no charges have been laid over the weapons but its still unclear, my understanding is the investigation is ongoing.

Until anything else comes to light, it is the only "facts" we have...It isn't that hard for the police to confirm the claim, either, so the fact nothing has changed regarding the charges make it likely that was the truth.

The fact that the "probable cause" section of the charging documents specifically include the line "The defendant can clearly be seen holding a long gun, which was later recovered by law enforcement" would strengthen the probability of the claim being factual, given they had the weapon when preparing the charges.

you should not take a gun to a protest, because people get into fights there and you will end up using the gun killing people, it's like bringing a nuclear bomb to a snowball fight.. you would not do it, because you do not want to be in a situation where you will be inclined to use it.. let's face it - his profile and actions point to hoping to use the gun, and he put himself into a situation where he got provoked into using it.. where a gun was not necessary and was way overkill for self defense.

He didn't take a gun to a protest. He took a gun to a riot where violent criminals were destroying property and committing other lawless acts to defend innocent people from being harmed. He is a hero who risked his life to help his neighbors. I admire his courage and bravery. If you watched the video, a crowd of at least 50 people ran after him while threatening to inflict serious bodily harm. He didn't try to shoot anyone. He tried to run away to avoid hurting anyone. It wasn't until they knocked him over, one of them tried to kick him in the head and another attacked him with a skateboard that he was forced to use his gun in what was clearly self-defense.

Blaming a victim for defending himself is shameful. It's like telling a woman it's her fault she got raped because she shouldn't have been at a party and should have known what would happen or blaming her for using mace to keep the rapists from raping her. The fault lies with the violent criminals who attacked him and those in government who support lawlessness. After Trump stepped in to provide the police protection Democrats refused to provide, the rioting stopped and the citizens were safe again.

He brought a gun to another state to a protest that had nothing to do with him and shot people.

That's false. He lived along the border and worked in the town where he brought the gun. He was assaulted and only shot people in self-defense.

Quote:
That's not heroic its just gross. He didn't try to shoot anyone yet he shot 3 people dead...interesting.

He tried to run away. He didn't shoot until the mob knocked him over, tried to kick him in the head, and tried to attack him with a skateboard. Those people got what they deserved.

Quote:
He wasn't a victim he was brandishing a weapon intimidating people and then killed people.

I guess you could say that about all police shooting. Should we ban police from carrying guns so people aren't intimidated?

Quote:
Or I suppose even if he was a victim he certainly created three more. At the very least he thought he was acting in self defense, but that is a far stretch from him being a hero for illegally bringing a gun to a protest outside of his own state and shooting people...regardless of why he did it.

He's a hero for risking his life being around violent criminals to help people.

Quote:
He is a violent criminal and should have been arrested on the spot. I mean they let him walk away even back behind cop cars, one could even argue that put police officers at risk, letting a shooting suspect walk behind the police blockade that way.

He did nothing wrong. He could have killed dozens if he wanted to. He's not violent nor a criminal.

We the People, however, constitute the Court of Public Opinion, wherein the accused is presumed guilty even after having been acquitted in a Court of Law.

Those who riot, burn down buildings, and attack the police are terrorists. Those who stand up for law and order in America, who defend themselves against those terrorists, are patriotic Americans and heroes who deserve to be celebrated and honored.

I'm glad we agree that rioters are terrorists. However, I don't think it's fair to call a young boy a terrorist for defending himself against adult terrorists attacking him and threatening to kill him. Does this child's life mean anything to you?

It is always a matter of opinion a hero to one can be a bad guy to another.

''freedom fighter'' is someone else`s ''terrorist.''

Ok well that is your opinion, not changing mine....he showed up looking for an excuse to shoot people. Also, according to paramedics he was not aiding the injured(also what would have he even had?) just walking around menacingly with a gun.

There is literally no confirmation he did anything to aid anyone....instead he killed two people and injured a third. I am not going to buy the white knight image the trumpers are trying to paint over him.

There is video showing him running away from dozens of people threatening to harm him. That video proves he acted in self-defense. That's not an opinion. That's a fact.

That's an opinion. The evidence disagrees with your opinion. The video is quite clear why he acted and he could have easily killed more people.

Any evidence he was menacing people? Video before the shooting showed him with medical supplies to aid the injured.

Kyle Rittenhouse is a brave hero who will be found not guilty of all charges. He's a young boy who supports law and order who risked his life to help people in need. Schools should lift up this young boy as an example for all children to follow.

Who did he 'help' exactly? The paramedics specifically did not want him around, he was making their job harder by intimidating people and they were avoiding him because of it. Also, he didn't get chased until after he had already shot someone. Might help to read this link cyberdad posted earlier....
https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/loc ... 656907002/ it has quite a bit of detail from witnesses and the paramedics describing how uncomfortable he made them.

We should not be encouraging teenagers to arm themselves with assault rifles and shoot people.
