Preaching bigotry will earn you the contempt of decent people and seems like a very creative reinterpretation of 'loving your neighbours'.

Religion, by it's very nature, is the institutionalization of an "Us versus Them" ideology, and the externalization of attitudes ranging from condescension through contempt to hatred toward those who do not conform to doctrinal standards.

Thus, for those who are wholly devoted to their religions and their religious leaders, outsiders (the "Inferiors") are to be looked upon with pity and contempt -- pity for being "wrong", and contempt for never being quite "right" no matter how sincere their conversions.

Calling someone a bigot is like calling a black person the N-word. It's a slur liberals use to attack people who don't embrace their radical ideology. For example, Obama said in 2008 while running for president, "I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman." Most Democrats agreed. Now, just 12 years later they reversed their position and claim Trump and his supporters are bigots for believing what Obama and most Democrats believed 12 years ago.

Being a "bigot" has never earned me contempt from any decent people. I'm a deplorable bigot, racist, and misogynist (according to radical liberals) and proud of it because it means I'm not a follower who goes along with their ever changing ideology. It means I think for myself and don't arrogantly believe I'm better than everyone else throughout history because I blindly adopted the latest fad. It means I don't look down on the rest of the world and ignore their arguments because they disagree with my ideology.

America belongs to Americans. We have every right, like many other countries in the world, to build a border wall 50 feet high and 50 feet deep along the entire southern border to keep non-Americans people out. Americans want another Operation [censored] like we had in 1954 as shown in the picture below so America will be for Americans.

Pope Francis, Pontifex Maximus, Bishop of Rome wrote:
The most economically advanced societies are witnessing a growing trend towards extreme individualism which, combined with a utilitarian mentality and reinforced by the media, is producing a “globalization of indifference”. In this scenario, migrants, refugees, displaced persons and victims of trafficking have become emblems of exclusion. In addition to the hardships that their condition entails, they are often looked down upon and considered the source of all society’s ills. That attitude is an alarm bell warning of the moral decline we will face if we continue to give ground to the throw-away culture. In fact, if it continues, anyone who does not fall within the accepted norms of physical, mental and social well-being is at risk of marginalization and exclusion.

For this reason, the presence of migrants and refugees – and of vulnerable people in general – is an invitation to recover some of those essential dimensions of our Christian existence and our humanity that risk being overlooked in a prosperous society. That is why it is not just about migrants. When we show concern for them, we also show concern for ourselves, for everyone; in taking care of them, we all grow; in listening to them, we also give voice to a part of ourselves that we may keep hidden because it is not well regarded nowadays.
Pope Francis, Pontifex Maximus, Bishop of Rome wrote:
Dear brothers and sisters, our response to the challenges posed by contemporary migration can be summed up in four verbs: welcome, protect, promote and integrate. Yet these verbs do not apply only to migrants and refugees. They describe the Church’s mission to all those living in the existential peripheries, who need to be welcomed, protected, promoted and integrated. If we put those four verbs into practice, we will help build the city of God and man. We will promote the integral human development of all people. We will also help the world community to come closer to the goals of sustainable development that it has set for itself and that, lacking such an approach, will prove difficult to achieve.

You have asserted your religious convictions already in numerous posts, emotrtkey. Endless repetition here descends into a situation where you are giving yourself licence to annoy other members, and gives the impression that you think your beliefs matter more than anyone else's. You have made your points over and over again and there is no need at this stage to reiterate them. It annoys members as much as cross posting. So please give it a rest now, or find a site that welcomes this kind of thing.

You've adopted a very old fad and have allowed it to do your thinking for you. How liberating, how independent.

Further, insisting that calling someone who spews bigotry a bigot is comparable to that word and it's usage suggests that you really are ignorant of that particular word's history and are just trying to be as offensive as possible. Good luck with that style of interaction with people, you'll need it.

I don't have my own morality. I simply follow Christian teaching. If you want to know what I and other Christians believe, you can read about it here - http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM

You did not answer my question.

Concerning "calling someone a bigot" on WP:

Calling someone a bigot is interpreted as personal and not allowed.
Calling someone's views bigotry is interpreted as an opinion and allowed.

It may feel artificial but let's stick to this rule, okay?

So you are afraid to change with the times...? I mean you literally think woman's place is marriage and children or work for the church. Of course liberals are going to disagree with that. I am not interested in having kids and I certainly don't want to work in a church. We have freedom of religion, in this country so I should not have to follow your religious rules under any circumstance plus that would be against my religion the way I see it so there.

If your "preaching the Gospel" keeps being offensive enough, you will not be allowed to do in on WP any more.
I find a large number of posts on this site to be offensive but I guess that's allowed since they're promoting the forum owner's liberal ideology, right? It seems like it's against the rules to offend liberals but perfectly acceptable to offend conservatives. I can't stand intolerance so your threat may not be very effective. I think I'd probably be better off finding a site that tolerates people who disagree with their opinions.
It was not intended as a threat but as a reminder. By posting on WP, you agree to its rules - including the ones protecting various minorities, weather you like it or not.

Perhaps posting a Link To The Rules is in order.

I for one see sugarcoating bigotry as calling apples oranges.

Incinuating that we hurt your feelings as a result of your never considering anyone else's is blame shifting based on, wait for it, bigotry.

Dividing us morally on religious grounds is bigotry.

I don't really see the point of participating in a discussion slanted towards the emotional whims of bigots.

Actually, this started out as a discussion slanting away from bigotry, and mainly by illuminating the racism, sexism, and homophobia of the 1950s -- a state of society to which the MAGA culture aims to return.

:D Whew!  I was hoping we would get back on-topic!  Thanks cberg!

I also recall it being against the rules to call a member a troll here, even if they are one.

The problem with troll is it's hard to tell if someone is a troll or are they just a confused member or a member with mental or insecurity issues or someone who has very bad social skills and is naive so they don't know what is going on around them or if they are just easily triggered so they attack. So hence the rule in place.

And a fine rule it is, too!  It's a good thing that no one has said "You are a troll" to anyone else in this thread.
