That being the case, why on Earth have you guys been in favor of Trump, who has been backing out of international treaties and distancing the U.S. from its allies???

Trump put trade pressure on khin*, improved the Amerikan economy, brought manufacturing back to Amerika, protected Amerikan IP, prohibited ownership of shares in khin*s* owned companies(?) in Amerika. Made Nato pay its way, improved the living standards of the coloured people through better wages and increased numbers of jobs, warp speeded the vaccine, but don't say I said that. 8O

But I am not a Trump fanboy.
If the Democrats keep the pressure on the khin*s*, I'd be happy with that too. 8)

3 Your politics tends to affect ours (not sure if it's the same the other way around?). The 'special relationship'.

Pretty much the same here in Finland; I really can't understand how it can be so hard for some Americans to get it. I mean, our country's so small and we don't have any nuclear weapons or anything, so it makes sense for an average American not to be interested in our politics, but with how big the USA is and how much influence it has on the world, it would be an inconvience for a nation if it's people knew nothing about what's going on there.

The 2020 figure is of course a preliminary estimate - as of October 2020 - but it is in line with the general expectation that the Chinese economy will still achieve net growth in 2020 despite of COVID-19.

Sometimes, having the threat aware that America is an ally can be all that is needed to deter the threat from taking action...

Sure, I guess there is that but still 60 more days of time for Trump and his GOP to wreck things so who knows what all exactly is going to occur in December. Certainly seems their goal is to sabotage as much as they can before getting out of office. I just hope other county allies have a back up plan that involves not depending on the U.S for anything. But even with the change in presidency we just have a broken f*ked up system so yeah find a way to not depend on America because you'll just get dragged down. At least that is how it seems right now.

Trump wants to implement as many things he planned for before he vacates the presidency, hence the change of some of the military hierarchy, for one thing.

READ MY LIPS: Trump will NOT attempt a coup.
The idea is preposterous. :lmao:

You are probably right that he won't, and I should try and stay positive I guess. But I am worried of what the Repugnantans(republicans) will be getting up to for the next four years till the next election.

What exactly do you mean by khin*? China?

Also, he did not bring manufacturing back to America and all his china tariffs did was hurt the farmers and agriculture workers. He's also done everything he can to harm the environment and turn back any policies meant to help protect it. Also not really sure he really improved the standards that much for any of the poor regardless of ethnicity, if anything I have seen more homeless people than ever.

The khin*s* were really pissed off with Trump's tariffs and encouraging manufacturing back to Amerika.
That has to be a good thing. 8)

No I would not say that. And I was a pretty reluctant democrat voter, since I think a lot of times the democrats just p**** foot around instead of making a stand and over-all the Democratic party is too centrist for my liking. But I do feel at this point they are the lesser of two evils therefore I vote that way.

I'd rather just have socialism, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon. People are just too addicted to capitalism currently. I'd even go as far as saying I'd be fine with a cap on individual wealth.

Mostly what I know about Australia is that the TRAINZ Railroad Simulator program is a product of a company there.

I would like to say that's a joke but as my health declines I just can not keep track of as many things as when I was in to railway history and military history and current events for both.

Have been in a couple model railway and model airplane forums which have a notable percentage of Australian members.
And New Zealanders too.
Those forums don't much offer a venue for talking politics but things do sometimes get communicated.

Steve Irwin was your biggest export but he is gone now. Such a badass dude! Maybe the Funnel Webs, Redback Spiders, White Tail Spiders, Snakes, Venomous Plants, Great Whites, Jellyfish, can scare off any invader. Funnel Webs are hardcore motherfer's, They are definitely not a spider you want to mess around with. I think they are the 2nd or 3rd most venomous spider in the world. The Brazilian Wandering Spider and the Six Eyed Sand spider are deadlier.

I miss him he was awesome, and yeah still rather sad he's not around anymore.
I can't believe he died to a Stingray. He was stabbed through the heart.

I know...I mean that is a pretty metal way to go I guess, getting stabbed through the heart by a stingray. But damn do I miss Steve like I pretty much religiously watched his show the crocodile hunter when I was a kid.

That was the case with the Indonesians, a ways back.
Indonesia was threatening war with Australia.
They backed down 48 hours later when Amerika made it clear they would back us. 8)

Are you referring to this?

https://www.awm.gov.au/articles/event/i ... rly%201963.

If not this, then to what are you referring?

Nope.
I think it was to do with the conflict over East Timor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia ... East_Timor

Try again, though at least this one mentions america. Indonesia was invading Timor after Timor's government collapsed when Portugal de-colonized it. Australia and America were both *helping* Indonesia. Indonesia was not threatening to invade Australia. America did not prevent anything. They helped the occupation.

Australia seems pretty proud of the fact that their invasion rate is between zero and one, depending on who's history you go by. Surrounded by reefs and shoals, historically difficult to navigate waters, large sections of coast not conducive to a landing party... Not to mention that if you look at Indonesia and Australia, it doesn't pose much of a threat.

It's pretty wild how some people seem to think they have laser-precise insight into the workings of a foreign nation, but don't even seem to know their own history too well...

Perhaps some people might find it highly reassuring knowing that if america's allies got invaded on trump's watch, he would immediately compliment the invaders (you're not going to win them over by insulting them, after all), point out that there are fine people on both sides (no sense in being "biased" or alienating people for no reason) and call the invasion "fake news" - so as not to panic anyone, of course - before deciding what favor he wants from you before lying promising he'll help...

So, despite the fact that some people seem to think that "both sides are equally bad, but one side is still better", or even "both sides are equally bad, but one side is good bad and the other side is BAD bad!", or even the basic, "one side is good and the other side is bad!", so everything hinges on the "good" people, if there even are any, being in charge, AND trusting they'll do the right thing, is THE BEST hope they think they have? They way they talk about how horrible violent and dangerous some americans can be, it's amazing they're willing to trust america at all.

It's amazing how people that are literally on the other side of the planet can have such intimate knowledge of places they've never been to.
