Bannon is the mastermind behind Trump. When all these naive "moderate republicans" claim they don't agree with Trump but voted for him, they were supporting the ideology of Steve Bannon.

In this respect the crazed MAGAs are at least more honest (despite being deplorable). Moderate republicans who vote for Trump in 2020 are like the lukewarm christians that Jesus metaphorically spat out of his mouth.

While I recognize Bannon as the evil genius behind Trump, he's still batsh*t crazy. He's written and spoken of the rejoining the long past ancient times when the gods - or God - directly communed with man. And that's not even taking into consideration Bannon's insane racial ideas. Hopefully there's enough sane Republicans left who will fight for a Republican party grounded in reality.

Being in the club certainly does make the others criminals.

If Trump was truly as much of a genius as he claims, he would still be president.

In some ways the guy really is an idiot savant.. but mostly idiot, IMO.

He HAS gotten away with a lot of criminal shady s**t.. thousands of court cases against him.. money laundering, not paying for things, double crossing back stabbing throwing people under the bus, quid pro quos.. etc - he's a serial fraudster & con artist extraordinaire to the EXTREME! There will be books & movies written about this.

He's charismatic and persuasive. People get almost.. enchanted by him, and end up doing stupid criminal things on his behalf, or trusting him to deliver or pay despite his lifelong history of not doing so. He's very cunning & narcissistic and pulled off a lot of crap.. but he ALSO come across as the "f*****g moron!" Rex Tillerson told us all he is. Truly a unique human. He HAS pulled off a lot of shady crap by lying and misleading, believing his own alternate reality lies the more he tells them to himself... but I Also think a lot of the stuff he's gotten away with is by dumb luck as he bumbles his way through things.

Don't forget, he hasn't been batting 1,000 or anything.. the guy blew a $450M inheritance, went bankrupt several times, bankrupted casinos FFS.. he's no President Putin -> now that guy is an actual evil genius strongman. trump's a chump who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a brain that distorts reality to whatever he wants it to be so he's managed to navigate the world perceiving things as he wishes vs. as they are, and getting his way because of Daddy's deep pockets.

If you can stand a Mafia analogy, Putin is a Capo running his Family like a business, while Trump is a Thug running his Family like a mob.  Both are criminals, and both may get what they want in the short term, but only Putin can maintain and expand his Territory over the long term.

Putin is to Vito Corleone as Trump is to Johnny Ola (characters from "The Godfather").

Or maybe another mafia analogy is Putin IS a mobster, trump is just an actor trying to play a mobster in real life.

he is the luckiest bad actor on earth. he is a low-grade thug in high places. he has the power of satan behind him. satan owns him. as long as he is alive on earth nothing bad will happen to him. he knows this.

LOL!

Putin is another Al Capone (pronounced "kəˈpoʊn"), and Trump is another All-Cafone (pronounced "kəˈPhony").

Trump had been Putin's b*tch even before his Presidency.
Who says Biden bowed to China? Or for that matter, Obama?

Cruz is sucking up to a man who insulted his wife, and attempted to defame his father (Cruz's father is a dirtbag associated with the prosperity gospel, but I doubt he had any role in the Kennedy assassination). This must make Cruz king o' the brown nosers!

Trump is certainly no mastermind. He wouldn't have achieved anything if it weren't for Daddy's money.

He's not stupid, but he he probably couldn't have achieved what he did without financial backing. It takes a a greater mind to rise from rags to riches.

I think the republican leadership are shrewd. They know 74 million MAGA supporters is nothing to be sneezed at. It's likely posturing to maintain the MAGA support and also in keeping with the GOP reputation for lacking a moral compass.

Clinton and Nixon still had to resign. Trump never had to after his first impeachment, so he was still able to be President and not have the consequences of resigning. But I don't think he was a mastermind enough to get away with it to avoid being caught, because he is too dumb for that, so I think he's innocent therefore.

Clinton didn't resign, and neither him nor Nixon would have had to. There's just this a thing called decency, or respect for the office, which even a paranoid as*hole like Richard Nixon had some of. Trump didn't.
He was like a weird friend's friend, who's hanging around your house, and whom you caught peeing over the furniture and he still refused to leave after that - and who had millions to spend on lawyers to duke it out.
