Ivermectin was mentioned in the original post so not off topic.

Whether they lie or not depends on one's political leanings.

I almost felt sorry for Sanjay. He knew he had been caught in a lie but didn't want to throw his employer under the bus. Tough time to be a professional "expert".

Ahem, Jim Acosta
Was The One Who
Made the Statement About
Rogan Partaking of the Ivermectin;
Honestly, Mostly Used on the Farm
As A Horse De-Wormer in the United

States as One of the Local Repair Shop's
Owners Proudly Admitted He took some Horse
De-Wormer as He Has Horses on His Farm too...

Of Course, Unvaccinated, the Delta Virus Tore a Whole
in the Repair Shop Among All the Employees, Forcing A
Shut-Down; Yes, The Financial Cost, Ouch, of Not Getting Vaccinated too...

Wouldn't Surprise me, if 'The Joe Rogan Show' Motivated Him to do the Horse De-Worming

Version Of Ivermectin
And Yes That's

A Whole Point

of Joe Rogan's

Ignorance; He Left it Up

To His Common Turnip-Trump-Truck Audience

in Ignorance To Decide What to Do Next on their
Own, likely Depending Some, in Part, if they really
Had Their own Horse Farm and Ready Supply too...

Anyway, It's Easy to See that Gupta is More of A Perfectionist
in Details, Black And White, Than Larger Vision Thinking Seeing Bigger Pictures

Nuanced As Such; Where Typically So-Called Neuro-Typical Folks, Go 'Grayer', if
There really is such a thing (Neuro-Typical), which there is not, by the way, to be more Pedantic too

As Sanja Would Typically Do too, As More of A Pedantic Kinda Guy, By A Strict Book of Semantics too...

Anyway, Sanja Gupta is a Straight-Up Guy; Shouldn't Be Hard to Figure Out, if One Is Proficient at Reading Human Souls...

Yes, Don Lemon Has Lived A Life With Enough Bullies For Being Different that He has a Bit of A Chip on His Shoulder

And Tends to

Be A Bit too Elite

In Tone When it comes
To Turnip-Trump-Truck-Minion-Ignorance...

He's Singing to the Choir Baby. Costa Is Singing

To the Choir Baby too; Meeting What the Target Audience

Wants to Hear Most; Same As They Do Over at Fox News too...

Gupta

Is the Kind
of Straight-up
Guy Ya Turn to,

If You Do Not have
The Ability to Read Between
the CuLTuRaL Lines For How

Life Really Works in the Really Big Show of Anything Goes...

Both the Source of Who 'The Op' Presented, And Yes Even
Joe Rogan, Both Laud Sanja Gupta As a Great Credit to the Human Species...

i Do too...

He Simply Related what i did...
it Wasn't Appropriate to Use

The Wrong Term; However, Technically,
Ivermectin Is Used As A Horse De-Wormer

Most in the United States Approved, And the Reality is CNN Was Trying to Make

Rogan Look Like He Just Fell Off the Trump-Turnip-Minion-Truck oF IGnorance

You Know

'The Bleachy Orange Guy Meme'

Most Everyone With Common Sense has Already

Had A Face Palm Forest Thick Over Trump's Stunt(S) too...

Yet Again, Lemon, Cuomo, And Costa Are Here to Please
The Church Choir of CNN, No Different Than Jesse Watters,
That Judge Lady Who Looks Like She Sucks Lemons all Day;

And the Rest of the Clown Crew of Hannity And Tuck Tuck too on Fox News...

It's One thing to Shade Someone For Promoting A Non-Approved Drug, Potentially Dangerous
to Treat a Deadly

Pandemic Yet Yes,

It Surely Is Another

Thing to Promote

A President Once again

As the Facts Relate that the

Senate Majority Republican Leader

And House Minority Republican Leader

Both Admitted That Trump Was in Part
Responsible for a Deadly Insurrection to
Overthrow the Democratic Process in the United States...

That's the Kinda

Thing That Make

Countries Go Away

From Being Free; That's the
Kinda Thing that Should Teach
Folks to Change the Fox Channel, if They Have Any Common Sense at all...

Go Figure, The Trump-Turnip-Minion-Truck is Still Loaded Full of That... Yes...

And No, i Don't Change the Channel on Fox News; i'm Just Curious, How Un-Patriotic

The So-Called News
Will Fall...

Falling

Falling

Falling

They Better Get Up
And Realize When the
Ship Sinks They Go Down
Too Not Much Different than
the Ignorance Unvaccinated of the

Repair Shop;

Yet that was
Just Temporary, Not a Permanent
Loss of the Right to Life, Liberty, And

The Pursuit of Happiness

And Oh Yeah

Justice For All too...

For Now Let's Just Work
On Not Turning the Country
Over to Demagogue Rule, Again, Pretty Please...

Of Course, i'm Just a Watcher; Already Did my 'TiMe'...

I've been vaccinated, and am fine. I'll leave the dewormer to horses.

You take a bite of horse wormer then a Lysol chaser.I suggest lemon Lysol, it pairs well with the apple flavor of the wormer.

He got into that mess because he was brainstorming on a subject he didn't understand.

We used to throw ideas "on the table" where I used to work.
Appropriate at a boardroom table.
Not appropriate in front of the global media.

This was an example of "Illusionary Superiority", and he paid dearly, in terms of credibility, for that indiscretion. 8O

Even in brainstorming, I think one has to display common sense to be taken seriously.

For a nuanced conversation around this Rogan podcast, and one of the better conversations in general check out

Rebel wisdom is an excellent channel!

The video basically glosses over that Gupta felt intimidated in the presence of Rogan and then followed this with an interview on CNN with Don Lemon where he retracted part of what he said to Rogan preferring to tow the CDC line (I posted the link on the CDC view of Ivermectin) and suggest that Ivermectin is a veterinary drug for horses and cows,

Gupta probably was a little in awe of Rogan so (yes) there was a lot of admiration flowing from Gupta's mouth where the two of them were complimenting each other on how they admired how each of them think. However, I Gupta used this as a "get of jail" when asked to explain himself to Lemon reverted to the CDC line.

Gupta isn't my cup of tea but I think people are making a big deal about nothing.

That was certainly an interesting video - I may have to have a look at some of the other videos on the channel.

I did find the observation of a condescending attitude from those on one side to be reflected in discussions even on this site: the interest appears to be in condemning those who don't share the majority (their) view (or attempting to demonstrate "moral superiority" over those people\those who try to speak up on their behalf), rather than in seeking to understand why others may have a different view in order to try and convince them to change their view, based upon attempts by myself and others to present what we each understand the alternative view to be (I'm not sure how well I have been able to present it, based upon limited interactions with those who were willing to talk about it - many are hesitant to have such discussions based on past experinces they had endured trying to explain to other, less sympathetic people) in order to assist people to have a better understanding of those with whom they may not agree.

For example, the following threads either start from the condescending point of view, or certain contributors quickly turn it in that direction:
viewtopic.php?t=399208
viewtopic.php?t=400210
viewtopic.php?t=400057

One point I think was misunderstood in the video, though, was the reason Mr Rogan was so fixated upon the "horse wormer" story wasn't that he had been taking something commonly used for that purpose, but rather that the story on CNN was presented in a form designed to give the impression that he was taking that specific type of the medication: Had they said he "was taking this medication, more commonly found in horse de-wormer", rather than that he "was taking horse de-wormer", there would likely have been less controversy, and he would have been much less likely to have taken offence (the former would be true, while the latter is understandably considered by him to be a lie)- a subtle difference, which seems to elude some people's understanding.

The section about "moral tastebuds" (started around 1:13:45, picked up again at 1:21:23) was also quite interesting and also seems appropriate when looking at people's political views - I've noticed that many people have a similar attitude towards those with differing political views to those they show towards people with differing views on Covid, for example.
