The problem is that people take offence when it could be a massive solution to their problems, because they could sell up there and the money they could bring could be a lot compared to some places in Africa and they can set up quite a business and really thrive. This is about solutions that are best for the people whoever they are.

Ok. Have a plan. Do not jump in feet first without a plan! Research. Plan ahead.

Here in Britain now the lockdown shows signs of coming to an end, new opportunities will become available. Here in Wales many businesses have closed never to open again. It seems doom and gloom, BUT what an opportunity to the go getters who will risk all to take it!! Never before for years has there been such open markets of opportunity!

This is what I want to say, that if we think we have been dealt with bad cards, we can do something about it. Don't try to change people. That is impossible. Change yourself and your own opportunities. That you can do!

Since the subject seems to be British violence. It seems that people head butt in fights there, or at least on the tv shows.Just curious.

Only drunk people do that! Alcohol is the main issue in the UK.

Luckily our drunks haven’t figured out how to do that yet, maybe because they didn’t play soccer as a kid.

Britain earned its place in history many times. When Captain James Cook sailed to Canada, Britain earned its place in history. When Charles Dickens published his novel 'A Christmas Carol', Britain earned its place in history. When John Loggie Baird invented Television, Britain earned its place in history. When the Germans were defeated in WWI and WWII, Britain earned its place in history. During the days of Beatlemania, The British Invasion, Carnaby Street and Swinging London back in the 1960s, Britain earned its place in history.

I think it's very hard to credibly generalise about national character and culture. Britain has been a mish-mash of people from other countries for centuries, and I don't think there's any such thing as Britishness. So it's a perfect subject for a polarised debate.

Why would I read your entire post history?

You said something at the start that's nonsense, I'm taking issue with it.

I haven't got round to taking issue with anything else you've said, yet.

Again this plainly isn't true. Nobody is forced to pay for a TV license, you can simply choose to stop watching traditional TV. It's also worth noting that the majority of BBC content is not produced in London, including a little over 50% of TV content.

When I used to have a house, I did not have a TV. I was given an old analogue one when I first bought the house which I was going to use for my games system (Playstation 2) but it did not work so I abandoned the idea and it was scrapped. I had no want to watch TV. I got round it by buying a Joytech screen that bolted to the back of the PS2 so that was me sorted!

Now I had so many threatening letters by the TV licence people that it was one of the decisions why I eventually gave up the house. They refused to aknowledge anyone could live with out a TV and I was being taken to court (Though they never gave me a date as to when or where even though I tried to find out) for not having a TV licence.
I would refuse to open the door to anyone due to these letters and was quite reclusive and nurvous while at my own house which led me to abandon living there in the last few years I owned it, and it was all due to the constant threat of the TV licence people.
If I had the money I would have had to take them to court through their constant harassment and threatening letters. I asked for appointments to see them to show them I did not have a TV but they refused saying that they would call un-announced, and this petrified me as I like to know and I can't cope with unexpected surprizes because they cause shutdowns.
So I got rid of the house as the solution to the issue.
I was going to yearly buy a TV licence to keep them off my back, but my brother and patents said "Don't you dare pay them if you have no TV" so I was caught between two extremes and was squashed into the solution of selling my house. (I also quit my job by then due to burnout so I had no income, so selling the house was the solution. Looking back I can see how I was kinda bullied into accepting an offer half the value by the estate agent who used his psycological pressure knowing I had no income and someone he knew bought the house from me, but that is all in the past.

As soon as I sold the house, they did not want to proceed with the court case which is odd because they said they had w

Capita, the company that manages the majority of the TV licensing system, specialises in aggressively worded scary letters - but they really say nothing more than variations on "if you are found to be watching live TV without a license you may be taken to court". Recently this also includes accessing the BBC's iPlayer online.

See here for details on the BBC's Charter and other license-related topics:

You do not require a license to simply own a TV.

This seems to be a pretty comprehensive overview of when you do and do not require one:

That, my friend, is called a Glasgow kiss. You don't want to know what Glasgow smile is.

Back in the 70s and 80s into the 90s there was a lot of gang violence in Glasgow and "ice cream" wars.

I was vaugely aware of gang issues as a kid, but didn't live in the city itself. The boys would talk about it. I read a Reddit thread about people who grew up in the tougher areas recently and it was an eye opener.

Capita have indeed frightened many innocent and vulnerable people with their scaremongering letters. I got one on which the first thing visible was (words to the effect of) "Things to prepare for your court appearance." Not that I required a license. It scared me a little at the time, as I know the law can get things wrong. Further perusal of their letter and a look on the Web showed that it was a standard letter they'd sent regardless to anybody who wasn't on their records as having a license, that they were notorious for such heartless behaviour, and that the BBC sign off these letters, and so bear ultimate responsibility for them. They don't frighten me any more.

They could save all the trouble they cause by simply making the BBC an encrypted subscription service like Sky. But the Beeb prefers to keep the "goodies" freely available and then to intimidate people into paying up. And surprisingly, the law says that you're liable for a BBC license even if you only watch commercial television.

Somewhat ironically, the Tories are now punishing the BBC by cutting their money, for having "too much of a left-wing bias." It's a clever populist move that involves freezing the TV license fee. I have to wonder what's left-wing about hounding struggling citizens the way they do (rich people just pay the ruddy thing). And I haven't forgotten how the BBC gave Thatcher a hand during the miners' strike by reversing the footage of the Orgreave Colliery battle to make it look as if a group of miners had provoked the police to to a mounted baton charge on them by hurling rocks at them. Left-wing?

Thankfully the gang culture is mainly a thing of the past and interestingly it was partly down to the singer Frankie Vaughan. He would always be warmly welcomed when performing in Glasgow and when he heard about the gang problems he started an initiative to engage with the gangs and look for ways to get them involved in other activities.

Slavery and racism are still practiced by the west including Britain, it’s just evolved into globalization which is more subtle, efficient and makes them more money.

Basically they prop up these rent economies in poorer countries get them to privatize their natural resources paying off a minority of oligarchs at the top who end up putting the money back in London via high end property or the stock market.

Those that don’t have natural resources they just use as wage slave cheap labour.

Countries like this include Africa, 90s Russia, Middle East , China pre 2010 and most of Asia and much of S America. In fact almost most of the non western world.

Countries that try to break out of this prison by nationalizing their natural resources for the people or try to become a high end economy end up being subject to regeime change or color revolution.

Trumps ban on export of chip design machines to China was a good example of this.

Funny Britain and the west never seem to have a trouble with human rights abuses until those countries stop serving their economic interests.

Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan is a great example
