I think that as a general rule, complimenting an aspect that a woman has control over is acceptable. Such as hairstyle, nail polish, choice in fashion and so on...aspects that could be considered extensions of her personality and sense of self.

Also matters who does the complimenting. But thats like small talk. These type of judgments aren't a one way street. Woman scrutinize men all the time.

However, I'd avoid complimenting areas that are not under her control, such as the size of her breasts. That's an odd thing to do unless prompted or in a romantic and / or sexual relationship.

I don't do that. As clueless as i might be at times, I would never go up to a woman and start talking about her breasts, ass. I have told a woman she has nice smile, white teeth. But I don't consider that sexualising a person.

Yes - but the question isn't about complimenting people's teeth.

It's about women "being sexualised".

Women are sexualized in virtually everything they do, in mainstream society, to a far greater extent than men are. This is something I've noticed a long time ago as a gay male. The media would go on and on about a woman's sex appeal and I'd be thinking, "I'm gay. What do I care about any of this?" :roll:

Cultural dynamics. Human civilization has been 'patriarchal dominated' for about 6 thousands years, since the invention of agriculture. Where superior strength and masculine traits became necessary to farming, and therefore glorified and elevated in the social sphere. Female subjugation, and subsequent sexualization, is a result of thousands of years of western civilization, rooted in biology also.

My :nerdy: analytical response.

But even if it's like this, aren't women still being hypocritical about it possibly in that you cannot complain about being masterbated to and dehumanized, when those exact women who complain about it will go home and masturbate to someone they think is hot, and thus essentially doing the same thing?

This isn't about people's private thoughts. No one can police or control that. What we can police / control is the way women are treated in society on a large / small scale, and what is normalised or considered acceptable behaviour.

It's not men's place to say what should or shouldn't make a woman feel vulnerable or afraid.

It's a choice. And it takes more work to see someone as less than human than to recognize their humanity.

I've had female relatives, who mentioned some jerks making comments about them, in the street. And I've wanted to go find them and go start something with them. but that's just me, I'm weird like that. (But then again, i think most people do respect each others humanity, most men have mothers, sisters, female cousins, aunts.)

My behavior in public i'm respectful of people. I was brought up with a certain degree of manners. My thoughts on the others hand is a whole nother thing . lol . In that domain I'm 100% unapologetic male. No man wants to be psychically castrated. And that's where you get backlash. Mens rights activist , misogynism etc. When men feel their whole existence is being attacked and invalidated and demonized.

This is a cultural thing. There are laws in place. But standards are always changing, society becomes unrecognizable after a certain amount of time. Everything is in flux. We don't have a static culture. Society evolves, either to a better state or a worse state. Its constant battle between political forces. Pendulum swings. Extremist political ideology only makes polarization of the genders more inevitable.

So much truth in your statement. A conflict is women are a sliding scale in acceptable behavior, same as men.

In General, Humans Are Highly Fueled
in 'The Department of Sexuality' As they

Don't Yield Huge Numbers of Offspring, Compared
to Many Other Species in the Animal Kingdom. And

It's Worth Noting, Fertility Rates Are Decreasing All Over
The World in First And Third World Countries too; Yes, What

May 'Normally' Be Expected When Any Species Uses More Resources Than they Return.

Let's 'See', Science Suggests That 92 Percent of Males And 76 Percent of Females in the
United States DO, According to a HUGE Study Done on Masturbation That Also Suggests
That Globally, Overall, 78 Percent of Humans DO Masturbate. This is Yes, 'Normal' Human

Behavior Now, Particularly, Considering the Number of Folks Who Are Not Married And Are Not
Sexually Active With a Human Being; And in Many Cases, Devoid of Flesh And Blood Friends And
Even Acquaintances in the 'Real World Now'. And Additionally, Another Study Shows
Porn Usage Among 98 Percent of Males And 73 Percent of Females; Again, A 'Normal'

Part of the Human Condition Now; According to the Study of Lust, Lust is A Major Stimulator
of Creativity in Males And Conversely, A Major Incentive For Women to Cooperate on their End

When They Get Turned on By A Dude With Other Women Instinctually Showing Their Worth As Nurturer
of Potential Children Coming Later on Down the Road in A Relationship Starting to Bud Early On Now.

True, in this Way

Lust Lubes the

Whole Society

For Creativity

And Cooperative

Productivity too; Of Course,
At Best, When Relationships are

Respectful And Mutually And Consensually Desired as such;

Yet of Course, This is Driven Very Much By Innate Instinct And Intuition
And is Surely Not Just A Science; Yet An art that Must Always Be Practiced

With Least Harm When We As Humans Are Properly Tuned in Balance this way...

Hmm, Porn is a Huge 'Monkey Bank and Wrench' When it Comes to Human Evolution

As Usually Not Everyone Gets Their 'Pick of the Crop' That way and in Many Ways the Mind
Can't Tell Much Difference As Far As Getting Basic Satisfaction From The Virtual or Real THING.

Of Course, Sex Means Not Only Greater Creativity, Productivity, And Social Cooperation, it Also means
Basic Survival, So of Course Any Functional Society Built on Buy and Sell of Goods is Surely Gonna Maximize

That Potential

By Selling What

Our Shadows Desire Most, Overall;

Yes, Lust Fulfilled to Bring Survival Next!

It's a Brave New World As Fertility Rates Continue
To Fall As Instant Gratification Takes the Place of

What Normally Would Have to Happen to Gain Flesh and
Blood Real Relationships That Last; Yet Again, First World
Problem And Third World Problem, Humans Are Stressing Out
The Environment And We Are Basically Culling Our Own This way...

Women Have Been Sexualized As Part of the Economy Even More than
Basic Lust That Comes in Life; And Sure This Has Been Going on Many

Many Years
And As Human
Empathy Continues
to Drain Away As We Become
More the Tools And Machines We Create,

Expect Even Less Interest in Young Folks Ever
Getting Together to Increase Fertility, Similar
to What has Already Been Going on in Japan;

Typically, in my Experience Women Have Taken A lot
of Unwanted Sexual Attention From Men As Part of What
They Have Felt Was A Normal Negative Part of Life to Endure;

The "Advent of Trump's Bad Behavior" Woke Folks Up to the "Me Too"

Movement As Women Finally Bonded together And Said NO, NO Means
No

More...

Hmm... As A Male,
i've Been Left Out of

'The Hunt' of Mates When
Young By Females And Groped
And The Such For Many Decades After that

And Nah, Standing Over 6 Feet Tall and 244 Pounds
or So, i Never Really Got Upset About it; However, YES,

it Would Be Totally Different if i Was A Vulnerable Woman
Subject to Lasting Negative to Deadly Consequences From
PreDation This Way; No, Women Don't "Over-Respond to Being

Sexualized By Men", Overall; Yet From What i've Seen in the Last
Decade At Least in Dance Halls, Women Have Nearly As Much Free
Agency of Sexual Aggressiveness For Who They Wanna Hook-up With Now too...

Yet Of course, It depends on the Environment; The Demographic and Overall Levels

of Libido;

Some Folks
Are Geared Up
And Some Folks
Are Geared Down;

Meh, Sex is A Major
Driving Force, Desire,
Want, And Need of Life;

Yet The Way i See it, Sense, And
Feel Life Overall, It's A Minor Pleasure
in Life Compared to Higher Level Pleasures in Life...

i Was Never Tempted to Go to the 'After Party' From
The Dance Hall After Grinding Dances Delivered By
Wild Hips, Where in Some Cases They Never Even Turned
Around to Look at me in my Face; In That Demographic,

Compared to the Dance Hall Days of the 80's, It's A New
Free Agency Taken By Women in Many Cases Just as Much or
Even More Than Men; As i Can't Imagine Going Up to A Woman
i've Never Met And Doing That to A Woman; Something About Empathy, Yes.

Sex Seems to Be Taken As Take it Or Leave it More Than Ever in Human Cultures Now,

Thanks to
All the

'Tools' too
of Culture New...

There Are A lot of
Unhappy Folks in The
World; Yet that Again is
What Naturally Comes When SO FAR OUT OF BALANCE NOW
A Species Rapes/Destroys The Resources of Overall Nature...

Yes, Surely Almost As Predictable As 'Clockwork Orange' Now...

Oh okay, I see what you mean. But when it comes to private thoughts, the woman in the video said specifically, that she has a problem with men masturbating to women and that it's dehumanizing she said. So she thinks it's wrong, even though it's private thoughts though.

But as for what is considered acceptable behavior, if women are going to push for there not to be women being sexualized in screen in Hollywood then does that mean they should do it for male actors too then, just to be fair?
