But even if the sanctions put pressure on Russians, Russians believe what Putin tells them, so if Putin says the Ukrainians are responsible for the sanctions then his people will just support him more in destroying Ukraine likely.

Not all Russians believe what Putin says----trust me!

Though they don't want to say it on YouTube or something, there are Russian people who feel a kinship with the Ukrainian people.....and there have been Russian soldiers who have refused to kills Ukrainian people.

That makes sense. So will we go back to having trade with Russia then if they pull out if Ukraine?

It depends on HOW they pull out of Ukraine. And Russia would have to be monitored for potential subsequent war-like actions.

Why didn't the US use them on Germany and Japan during WWII instead of having to use harsher methods of fighting?

Japan bombed Hawaii and a few days later Germany declared war on America.

What would you do if an air raid killed 2,500 people in one day? That's what happened at Pearl Harbor.

But isn't Russia doing the same to Ukrain in principle, in a way, yet sanctions are the answer.

In Pearl Harbor, it mattered that it was an attack on an American base.
Similarily, there's a red line if Russia attacked NATO territory (or I hope there is 8O ).
Officially, NATO not a side of this conflict, even if various NATO members support Ukraine's right to defend themselves. This would change if any NATO member was attacked.
That's similar to USA in WWII in 1939-1941, before Pearl Harbor.

That makes sense, but I don't think that Russia have to spread it's invasion as far as Nato countries, just so Nato can wake up and see that maybe it will take more than sanctions to stop a madman.

NATO is pretty much awake. Half of our airspace is closed to civilian flights so NATO jets can patrol our border. Finland declared willing to join the alliance.
Ukrainians are making good use of arms we're sending them.

Remember NATO is a defense alliance. Even if it wanted, it couldn't enter a war as an alliance, unless one of its members was attacked.

Well it's just I see these news stories of Ukrainians being killed left and right, so maybe I am being too pessimistic when I keep seeing that? But also, how good are the weapons that NATO is sending them? Are they sending them MOAB missiles for example?

You don't win wars with bigger weapons only. That's the mistake Russians have made. Much more important are intelligence, communications, planning, logistics and smart decisions. Then you can use the right weapons for the task.

Area around Kharkiv is being liberated as we speak. Artillery is still a thing today.

Oh okay it's just America still struck back with weapons after Pearl Harbor was attached as pointed out, so it just seems to me that back then, if the pen was truly mighter than the sword, than America would have struck back at Japan with the pen.
