Georgia Guidestones bombed then demolished

The controversial monument named Georgia Guidestones was bombed and damaged then the remaining part was demolished by the county here on July 6.

I heard about them years ago.That’s just depressing.

Wow, there is a far greater number of credentialed explosives experts in society than I would have guessed, given the volume of comments going, "If that was an actual explosion site it would have looked like this, and this, and this, therefore God did it with lightning".

When I was in AMORC several years ago I remember that at least a few people believed that it was someone AMORC-affiliated who put those up (the Christian Rosenkreuz references in the person's name helped that along a bit), and with the WIRED article it looks like it was indeed put up by someone who was deeply pessimistic about the future of our civilization and wanted a monument for the 'remnants' of civilization to work with rather than some sort of guide to eugenics and technocratic absolutism.

When I think about where this is coming from though - I think this makes clear the kind of rage a lot of people are feeling with groups like the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, I have a least one or two friends who are certain about 'The Great Reset' (it's been interesting as well to watch James Lindsay get consumed by that one), economically and in terms of freedom it's a less fun time to be alive than when we were kids and it doesn't look like things are likely to get better (at least without getting significantly worse first). Especially to evangelical Christians all of this and all of the different groups involved are the 'system of the Antichrist' so what I said in my first paragraph would be something of a distinction without a difference.

In that last sense I think this is a good thermometer reading.

This is really sad.

It was sort of like Stonehenge.

May 2, 2022 -- Christian Crackpot Kandiss Taylor Promises To Tear Down Georgia Guidestones.

The only people we ever hear talking about the Georgia Guidestones are those who have gone deep down the QAnon rabbit hole.  Kandiss Taylor is now [2022-05-02] promising to tear them down as part of her campaign for governor.

 The Smoking Gun? 

There’s a long history of people destroying art if they disagree with the religion or politics it depicts.

I first learned about the Guidestones in my beloved art history textbook.

The Taliban destroyed those ancient Buddhas.Not that the Guidestones were a world treasure, but the thought behind the destruction was the same.
“ I don’t like it ,so blow it up.”

We will rebuild; if not in Georgia, then somewhere else.

Nothing is safe or held sacred anymore, not people at a parade or works of art.
