There were several black Americans found hanging during the BLM protests of 2020. It's possible some may have been suicides, but it's more probable that they were mostly, or all, racially motivated lynchings.
It was only this year, in late February/early March 2022 that the US finally passed a law making lynching a federal crime.

I think the last public lynching involving "happy" picnics, children and photos was in the 60s. They were family entertainment before television. The ones you are referring to are secretive affairs,

They still happen from what I've been told. I used to live in Florida and there was a small town called Jay close to where we lived that I'm pretty sure had connections to the KKK. My mom at one time thought about buying property there because it was very cheap and she thought it looked like a nice small town, but her friend from college (who is black) looked shocked that my mom was thinking about moving there and straight up told my mom "If you move there I won't be able to visit you. Black people aren't welcomed there."
My Mom was confused at first until she looked at the history of this town. Lynchings still happen there even in recent years.

I used to go camping and canoing at Blackwater River, it's interesting to meet someone who is familiar with the area. 
I wasn't actually born in Pensacola though, I was born and raised in a town called Thomasville in South Georgia.
