Former President Trump was taunting the gunman, standing up and shaking his fist after the assasination attempt.
This is poor judgement, a President should be trying to minimize, not maximize, the carnage from such a horrific event.
Every shot fired into a crowded venue is likely to cause serious harm, as there is no place for the bullet to land safely!
He ought to know that, as many shootings have occurred under his watch.

In the NBA, taunting is unsportsmanlike conduct. If a player has previously demonstrated unsportsmanlike conduct, that player is ejected from the game!

Shouldn't someone with nuclear launch codes be better than that?

The gunman was a loser, why not taunt him?

I generally lean towards the right, I'm not really a fan of Trump though, but any political assassination attempt, irrespective of political party, unless absolutely necessary is indeed the act of a loser.

You rise some good points. However the name of the thread is slightly misleading as it sounds as if it's Trump who's being taunted, not the other way round.

It certainly seems in keeping with his character to behave in that way though.

I think Trump is a disgusting human being and a serious danger to the world but he is, just about, a human and any human who just had a bullet clip his ear should probably be forgiven a lack of composure in the following moments.

I don't have much issue with his behaviour in this situation.

If you watch the full video, he spent several minutes below the podium and it appeared that the Secret Service tried multiple times to get him to stand up and he couldn't/wouldn't (fear? shock?) and they finally had to physically pull him up to get him out of there. When I saw the fist in the air, it read to me as him trying to make it seem like he was courageous and strong, to cover how he was actually feeling. We know he's a coward, so this would be in keeping with his personality. The one thing he's talented at is being a con artist showman.

I'll bet the whole thing was staged. The photos themselves look very fake, I thought they were when I first saw them. The blood looks photoshopped and is too cherry-red. The racist sexist anti-autistic orange man is such a huge narcissist it wouldn't surprising he had this staged, his brainwashed MAGA lemmings already think he's God and now have an even "bigger" reason to hate those who oppose Orange Man.

I know this all sounds like a bunch of extreme left nonsense, but there are people who believe the holocaust was fake, the moon landing was fake, the moon itself is fake, the sky and the clouds fake. Compared to that, this is relatively less unhinged.

I do agree though that this real flesh wound allows Trump to "have his cake and eat it to".

Not sure how anyone would think this was staged for a start someone was killed.

Trump was hit in the ear not without injury or pain.

Anyone who thinks Trump staged a gun shot to his ear knows nothing about guns.

A gun shot trajectory has a tolerance that can vary depending how far away. At that distance even a deliberate aim for the ear could easily have gone through his head instead. Any expert would have said that.

US police and army have shooting ranges where it’s common and expected that some shots will go off target.

Not sure why people care so much about Trump , he was quite an ineffective president in power never really did anything too extreme. The main good point is he didn’t get US into any foreign wars although we came close with Iran once.

^If you live for 78 years and behaving like a tool the whole time has only brought you success and riches, I have my doubts that a fleeting brush with mortality will provoke much lasting change.

I keep misreading this title as 'Taking a Trump'.
