Honestly, we're going to have to see, because there isn't exactly anything that I can do to get them to at least try other candidates that may not have the same amount of luggage. But, if they skip the primaries and don't bother to really campaign either, I just don't see how they're going to have the turnout necessary to win.

Harris is going to need a big turnout of particular demographics to keep her chances.

You're just telling us you're ignorant about Project 2025 without realizing it.

[JOKE]

Kamala doesn't have a chance, because every ad I get on YouTube is her saying that she needs $5 from me in order to beat Trump and I have not sent her $5.

Your telling us you're ignorant about every other plan without realizing it. You don't honestly think that the current SCOTUS situation just happened, go you?

Go on, tell us how much of Project 2025 is recycled from earlier elections/GOP platforms.

You seem very confident in this claim so I'm sure you can inform us with some specifics instead of just broad statements like you've made so far. Clearly you understand this issue much better than every pundit and talking head who's been making the case that it's an existential crisis so now's your opportunity to shine.

Just gonna leave this here: https://static.project2025.org/2025_Man ... p_FULL.pdf

I'm not seeing anything here that's particularly new or particularly more alarming than the stuff they've been doing and saying for decades. And it's not every pundit that thinks this is new stuff. Compared with packing SCOTUS, the extensive gerrymandering and literally rigging of elections, this stuff isn't that bad. We've effectively already lost our democracy, letting the fear morning over things that aren't appreciably worse than what they've already been saying it loud to scare people out of demanding and alternative is just stupid.

I'll also remind you that these pundits that are apparently so smart didn't see Biden's dementia, rigging of primaries, court packing, HRC's loss or the continual throwing off elections by the Democrats as serious problems.

If they really thought that a plan being distributed in public to literally everybody that cared to pick up a copy was as big of a deal as you're claiming they do, they would be demanding that the party give us a real candidate with real support. Which they haven't done. They were fine with a senile candidate and they're fine with one that has a terrible track record as well. At the end of the day, they don't really care, they make money on people watching and being outraged, not in keeping people informed. At any rate, the while thing is rather moot as there will be a project 2029 if this fails because they've been putting these sorts of papers out since the '80s and these same pundits mostly haven't cared. Even Norquist getting politicians to sign fealty oaths out him rather than the country wasn't an issue for them.

I'm feeling a lot more hopeful. Seems like it has had a positive effect. However, the polls are still very scary and we cannot rest. Trump and his Project 2025 goons MUST be defeated. This is not a game. They're extremely dangerous and make me scared for my future. A future I have taken back for myself over the past several years after working through trauma.

the same message was repeated in 2016 and 2020 yet in 2020 more Americans (75 million) chose to vote for trump again despite experiencing 4 years of his leadership. I don't think this very large cohort have learned their lesson.

The bigger issue is that there really isn't anybody to vote for that's going to reverse course. The Democrats are content to be permanently in second place and the component of the GOP that isn't onboard clearly losing.

Even when voters think they're voting for something else, we get donor friendly frauds like Obama.

In all honesty trump is still likely to win in 2024 as he's come from behind before. But why did republicans settle on him? in 2016 his whole campaign during the republican primaries was thought to be a joke.

The likelihood is probably still that Trump wins, but Walz is a much stronger choice than Vance.

The reason why he won was probably that he was promising to burn the entire system to the ground. I don't think that the voters that voting for him were particularly stupid, they saw that HRC was being forced on us on the Democratic side and the GOP has been absolutely terrible for decades.

And he'll do that again this time around as it's far easier to destructively govern than to competently govern. Especially with idiots like Gaetz and MTG that can't push any sort of positive agenda.

I'm not a democrat, so I don't feel much of anything on the topic of Kamala. Personally I liked that Yang fellow a few years back, but nobody interesting ever wins. I guess Trump was interesting, certainly put a fire under people's asses whether they liked him or loathed him.

the Yang fellow (Andrew Yang) suspended his campaign on February 11, 2020, shortly after the New Hampshire primary. Afterward, he joined CNN as a political commentator, announced the creation of the political nonprofit organization Humanity Forward, and unsuccessfully ran for mayor of New York City in the 2021 Democratic primaries.

Interesting yes....future national leader? I doubt it.
