Where?
How'd you define it?

Knowing oneself? Check.
Enlightened? Well, I have a flashlight... :?

Well, I know what I'm not, so I guess I'm halfway there.

And yes, rideforever, when I get there I will keep posting.

I think it happens the day before you die.

At some point in life I realized myself. The next moment I realized everybody else, that was a really bad day. :( Nobody existed prior to that moment.

Upon self realization, I imagine that life would become chaotic for an interim. Also, it is probable that their are multiple hierarchies of ascent or progression. The self has many facets.

I don't think I will ever be fully self-realised but hey, life is like that sometimes. 8)

I realize that on some level of reality I exist and to the best of my knowledge that I have some basic elements to my personality.

If some buddhist thinkers are right, self-realisation might be the same as self-denial... I still think I exist as a person with a certain continuity in time and space. Maybe that's common sense, maybe it's because I'm not enlightened. Maybe I'm already enlightened - maybe we all are - but don't know it. Maybe what keeps one from being enlightened is common sense. :?:

When I was 10, I had the insight that "I exist!", which have returned every now and then, and it's only lately that it hasn't scared the crap out of me.
It might sound weird, but before that, I was only going along, observing, but I think at that time I understood my own existance and felt that it was strange, like going to a theatre and finding yourself on thestage instead of in the audience.

That's a kind of self-realisation, I pressume.

Yeah ... I can't get stoned anymore because when I do I get this same realisation once every 30 seconds, it slams into me with a jolt each time ... scary.
