I'm curious if the pigme's might be evolving in some odd way, though I doubt it'd be much more into a less animalistic direction if they had, seeing as they are tribal natives. But one must ask how a tribe of dwarfs can survive in the harsh rain forrest, that is impressive.

All I have to say is that in my part of England, it doesn't matter how it was meant, if it offended a non-white person or whatever terminology you wanna use - its racist.

Well, the stereotypical serial killer is a white male under the age of 35.

Yes and the sterotypical Irish man is a red-headed green-eyed drunk. Doesn't necessairly mean that that aren't dark-haired dark-eyed teetotallers in Ireland.

what's the point? no one here is interested enough in history to begin to try to comprehend the plight of black women in america.....not only the historic racism and sexism but also the subtle racism that still exists today in education and in many areas in the south(in the US).

Oh yeh? Met every single person in America, have you? Anyway, I'm not American. Besides which, last time I checked, you're not a mod.

tallgirl, formal mathematics is from Athens, not Egypt - mathematics as a deductive, axiomatic science, as opposed to empirical formulae, came from the greeks (though they did get some empirical formulae from Egypt) but that isn't really the point of this discussion). I agree with you 100% though that if non-whites had had the techonology, they would have committed the same crimes. For example, the Spaniards in the Americas committed a genocide far exceeding the Holocaust in the numbers killed (though there were spaniards that tried to stop it), but the aztecs would've been no better if they had conquered europe (they forced spanish prisoners to drink molten gold, for example). likewise the arabs and the africans (both of which largely ran the african slave trade).

I find pathetic that many people on this forum believe that, if other people with a similar skin color committed horrible crimes, you are also somehow responsible even if you hadn't been born yet or otherwise had nothing to do with these events. if 99.99% of members of a given race committ horrible crimes, that doesn't make the rest of them responsible.

In the US, i met several very nice black people, but i also met others that seemed to hate anyone who was not black for not being black. I'm not saying black Americans aren't discriminated against, but some of them hold every single non-black responsible, rather than the actual perpetrators. While there are countries far more racist than the US, there is a particular American obsession that your skin color IS your identity (as opposed to your actions, beliefs, culture, etc). My point is that INDIVIDUALS committ actions - not 'whites' or 'blacks' or whatever - and it is individuals that should be held responsible, not their descendants, relatives or people who happen to have similar levels of pigment in their skin.

Exactly, this is why I don't like talking with the pc freaks on here. They just don't get it, it's like they think that if they kiss enough ass and let fanatical minority groups do whatever the hell they want, even at the expense of the majority, they'll make up for what their ANCESTORS did in history or something.

There's not a ton of black people in Salt Lake City, but I did live in NY for a while. They were just like the white, asian, and everyone else - some were criminals, some had attitudes, and some were CEO's.

You know, I just saw the movie Crash this past weekend - and that was a pretty interesting commentary about modern race relations. There was one character in the movie - a black lady who worked for an insurance company - that was accused of having an attitude problem related to her race by this guy who was portrayed as a racist in other parts of the movie. The guy was really detetable, so you feel sorry for her when he referrs to her as "you people" (meaning, of course, blacks). In the very last scene, this black lady gets rear-ended by a chinese lady and goes into this racist rant against the chinese lady saying, "Don't talk nothin' to me, unless you talkin' American!! !". So yes, in the end, poor victimized Shaniqua (that's her name) is a racist herself.

The state of being a racist (which most humans are despite swearing to the contrary & the scientific fact that race is a social construct not a biologically based fact!) and disliking a particular individual because of the group to which you think he belongs and being in the position (empowered member of your society's dominant group) able to implement racism. Few Black people are in a position to refuse Whites housing, employment, mortgages, higher education, justice and civil rights etc.) White racists can perpetrate racism. Black racists can harm individual Whites (and those who do should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law). I am neither justifying nor excusing the race directed violence a Black inflicts on a White. I am a multiracial Black woman married to a White man. My step-daughter, whom I love dearly and raised from age 8, is White. My son is multiracial Black. If a White police officer shoots my son, a racist justice system will likely exonerate him. Just Google Amadou Diallo, Rodney King, Alain Gossette and see for yourself. A White person gets shot by a Black police officer, how differently do you think the justice system handles it? This is racism; not 'just' the violent hatred of a sick (or just evil)individual. All things are not equal until they are equal. What this Black woman wants is not to hassle White pizza delivery men (although many who've watched too many rap videos with half-naked skanky Black woman make stupit assumptions and harass me!). What i want is justice and a level playing field!

Thats racism. :) I'd like to make generalisations, but they're just not reliable enough. As far as I'm concerned, If I'm talking to someone thats black, it's just a random detail, no more relevant to the conversation than their height. If you talk to people like that, their attitude has a habit of disappearing quite quickly :)
