Great talk here about how the left's obsession with identity politics has hurt them. Instead of fighting the system, they want to be part of that system as a woman/lesbian/gay/trans/Muslim/Jew/black etc.

yeah, I mean.... in 1989, the wall came down and capitalism won - and the left gave up dreaming of a non-capitalist society. And turned towards other fights within the system.

Since 2008, when capitalism died (it's been a zombie ever since), those fights have gone mad, - but still, no one can imagine a different system....

Blacks, women, gays, Muslims, and others had been denied entry into the system for so long because others had held their identities against them. It was the right who had labeled them with this or that identity in the first place.

You actually believe that? Wow.

Yes, I do believe that, as it's an historic fact. We have a national holiday this upcoming Monday to commemorate a man who had fought against just that sort of identity labeling by the right that had kept blacks out of mainstream society.
But if I'm so wrong, please inform me how I am.

This guy has nailed the problems with modern liberalism. Modern liberals care about every progressive issue except plutocracy. That's the Obama presidency in a nutshell. That's the Clintons in a nutshell.

Thing is, though, we stand against the plutocratic interests, and we're told we have "class envy." More than enough people apparently shy away.

Anti-plutocracy isn't about envy. It's about saving human lives.

America is in a state of perpetual warfare because weapon companies control the US government. Additionally, many poor people in the US die every year from preventable illnesses.

It's not about envy. It's about saving lives.

That is exactly right. Class warfare is very real, and the upper class has started said war, and unfortunately is winning it.

Are they really winning?

Class warfare arguably started during the Neolithic Revolution. Thus, the class war is incredibly old.

Medieval Kings had far more power than modern plutocrats. I suppose the upper class is still "winning", but they aren't winning as much as they used to.

Satan controls this world, and Hollywood is run by Satan and his followers. Believe it or not, Donald Trump is not a Satan worshiper. That is why the mainstream and Helly-wood media hates him so much. That is why they want to take him down. We are blessed to have a leader who isn't part of the illuminati.

MLK was a socialist and a womanizer. Oprah Winfrey is one of the richest women in the world. The Hip Hop industry is huge and dominates the music world. Young white children are being exposed to it. Don't tell me that they don't have an platform, because they do. And historically, we must know the truth. Africans sold their own into slavery. They oppressed themselves.

There are a few conservatives on this site who rely on trolling (not to mention any names) but rvacountrysinger seems to genuinely believe everything that he says.

He isn't as annoying as some of the other conservatives here ... though he is more terrifying.

Lots of great historical figures had problems. Einstein has a closed-minded attitude towards the concept of quantum randomness. Newton practiced alchemy. Jefferson owned slaves.

Some rap music is about social issues. You almost never hear that type of rap on the radio.

Chris Rock is right about rap. In the olden days, you could analyse it.



I'm aware of that.

Non-white societies often have oppressive class structures, just like white societies. I believe that anyone who is oppressed has the right to fight back. For example, I was overjoyed when Mugabe was overthrown.

Of course, slavery becomes far more brutal when a racist component is added to it. That's another thing that you learn from history. Slave owners tend to be nicer towards slaves who look like them.
