Why is all the media focus on Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, when it's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that has the real power in Iran?

John Stockwell, former CIA agent, wrote a book called "In Search of Enemies" - the thesis was that US foreign policy is based on adversarial relationships, and when there is no enemy, one must be created.

Does "always" extend back to the era of WWII?

In a Country with little to burn and hardly any hydro, maybe with a desire to protect it self from those that have in the past been a little more agressive in thier neck of the woods  . Maybe im wrong on the burn part but they do have a nuclear power to the east, west and north.

Since Pakistan, which is already a minor nuclear power is on the edge of falling into the hands of the Taliban which, if anything, falls well into the "terrorist" category, I wonder why there is such a fuss over Iran joining the club and so little concern with Pakistan. It's obvious that Iran, which has signed into international nuclear agreements has perfect legal rights to develop its nuclear capacity just as other nations that have signed the agreements.

But we're making progress in getting rid of the militants over there.
