It looked to me like he died from a combination between the speedball overdose and a heart attack, brought on by the drugs, panic, and his atherosclerosis and enlarged heart. The latter two were probably things he hadn't been taking seriously because he was poor and addicted to opiods. Also, I don't know how many people knew this, but he did at least one porn. I saw the stills and it was definitely him. That is not something people usually do for fun. Especially religious people. It seemed to me like he was a desperate man, taken advantage of because of his good nature and misfortune. I felt real sorry for him.
I don't know your source of information about the cause of death (and all the rest).

Definitely not kneel on the person's neck for several minutes despite the person begging.
I agree the procedures need to be reworked - or even established in the first place.

It's Ramadan so im going to try my hardest not to insult you and call you stupid, but Jesus what's up with ignorant people assuming everything in the world killed Floyd, except you know, the actual knee that was crushing Floyd's neck for a friggin 9 minutes and 29 seconds. Seriously, why harp on all of these things that the jury spent 2 weeks examining evidence for and got thoroughly rebutted by Dr Tobin, but lets ignore the knee on the neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds thats kind of the elephant in the room. Stop with your garbage, before the jury gave the verdict I would have considered your cavils with the accusation of murder to be possible, but now that a jury unanimously convicted Chauvin after a week of evidence from a well funded defense team funded by the police union, the fact that a unanimous decision showing Chauvin murdered Floyd even after all the objections from the defense, reports from Dr Fowler, as well as repeated accusations of drug overdose, despite all that the jury came to the conclusion based on the available evidence that Chauvin killed Floyd.

Jesus, what message are you sending to the rest of America? If even after a unanimous decision and a mountain of evidence shows what the whole world saw on video last year, i.e. Chauvin MURDERED Floyd, even after all that you're still peddling the refuted myth that everything killed Floyd but the knee on the neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, how do you expect to be taken seriously.

The Knee killed Floyd.

Say it 5 times

The knee killed Floyd

Now say it again 10 times

The world saw it, the jury convicted, and the facts proved it.

In other news, the sky is blue.

Well I thought it the heart attack was brought about by knee on the neck, or at least this would have been a large part of it, and not just the drugs.

Except he never displayed signs of an opioid overdose. Having opioids in his system isn't evidence that they contributed to his death. He died of homicide, the result of Derek Chauvin's choice to asphyxiate him. That's why Chauvin was found guilty.

The medical examiner testified that drugs and heart conditions did cause Floyd's heart to stop.
https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/derek ... oyds-death

The prosecutor argued, several factors caused Floyd's heart to stop:
1. the drugs Floyd consumed
2. Floyd's heart conditions
3. Chauvin's knee reduced Floyd's blood flow

In Minnesota law, the prosecutor only needed to prove that Chauvin was *a contributing cause*, not the only cause.

I suspect he'll get off on appeal in a few years time once the political pressure has disappeared and most have forgotten about Floyd.

There seems to be a strong correlation between second-guessing the verdict and being a supporter of Trump.  I do not trust the opinions and false 'facts' of Trump fans, especially when the topic of discussion is a white person murdering a helpless, unarmed black person on camera.  I strongly urge others to ignore their trolling, as well.

Now that this trial is over, the Justice Department will do a full investigation of the Minneapolis Police Force.

Not when this happens

Looks like Chauvin may be in the news for a few years to come.

You mean posting information that can be used to defend the accused killer when their actions are racist.

No, I mean ignoring those trolls who pretend to know more about the case than anyone who was actually present in the courtroom.  The legally-empaneled and sworn jury were there, in the courtroom, and heard/saw all the alleged evidence.  They returned their guilty verdicts after reviewing all of the evidence and testimony.  No one here can change that; especially not anybody who has consistently come to the defense of racist, toxic, white males who murder helpless black people.

Well I think a big question is, would Floyd have died from the drugs and heart problems, if the police never came that day? If they didn't come would he have died in the next 20 minutes still, and Chauvin putting his knee on his neck, didn't really do much, and it was just a coincidence, if he would have died anyway?

No....Floyd wouldn't have died that day from what he had.

He died because Chauvin decided he needed to put his knee on his neck for 9 minutes.

The guy was convicted after 11 hours' deliberation. Seems like a pretty open and shut case to me.
