The US Congress holds first hearing on UFOs in decades, Pentagon official shows video from F-18 'UAP' encounter
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-05-18/ ... /101076296

The US Congress has held its first hearing in half a century on unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and no, there is still no government confirmation of extraterrestrial life.

Testifying before a House Intelligence subcommittee on Tuesday, Pentagon officials did not disclose additional information from their ongoing investigation of hundreds of unexplained sightings in the sky.

Politicians from both parties say UFOs are a national security concern. Sightings of what appear to be aircraft flying without discernible means of propulsion have been reported near military bases and coastlines, raising the prospect that witnesses have spotted undiscovered or secret Chinese or Russian technology.

I'm of the mind that of the two, politicians and UFOs, the greater threat to national security comes from politicians.

China has its Lop Nur Airfield, and Russia has its Kapustin Yar.

America has no monopoly on "secret" air bases.

Does either Lop Nur Airfield or Kapustin Yar have a decades long standing reputation for housing extraterrestrial technology?

It depends on whom you ask.

Back in the '80s there were rumors that the Rooskies' alleged "ET Program" was lagging behind our own, and that the Chinese had allegedly recovered "something from outer space" in one of their remote regions.  I think I read about these first in the National Enquirer, sometime before the "Amazing Batboy" craze.

Your average cryptoid conspiracy theorist will likely insist that "they" have been telling the Illuminati how to govern the world for centuries.

The respective governments deny everything, of course.

In other words the answer is no.

Would swear that somewhere during the decades I've seen a conspiracy theorist actually say with a straight face that the government denying it proves it is true because if it wasn't true they wouldn't deny it.
Huh?
What?
Ooooookaaaaay.

Its the Ruskies.

I think that Putin staged the whole Ukraine war in order to...PURPOSELY humiliate his own country. So we would all THINK that Russia has lousy military tech. When in fact they are are a zillion years ahead of his, and that Russia has been harassing our military bases, and aircraft carriers, with flying tic tacs for years!

Russia and China likely have just as much extraterrestrial technology as any other country on Earth, which is 'none'.

The UFO's would be insulted by all of those movies where we blow them up. Like Independence Day etc.

The issue is OUR military claiming that UFOs/UARs are really earthbound technology - tech invented by another earth nation -populated by terrestrial humans - and probably terrestrial humans in an adversarial relationship to the US. Like Russia, or China, or North Korea. Hence why the craft bother our military bases so much.

So the question is "how believable is it that Russia et al are even equal to the US in military tech, and how likely is it that they could dramatically more advanced than we are? And how likely is it that they could SO much more advanced than us that they could have flying tic tacs that defy the laws of physics when they fly?"

If they have that kinda tech then why hasnt Putin instantly defeated Ukraine with his death ray flying saucers already?

Maybe their kidnapped space aliens are better than our kidnapped space aliens.

(That will be the 21st century version of the Sputnik era joke about how "our German scientists are better than your German scientists").

The question is "What space-alien tech?" and nothing more.

No. That has nothing to do with the question.

Our military claims that there is no alien tech.

It claims that the UFOs in question are actual vehicles built by rival earth powers- and claims that said powers did it without kidnapping aliens, or 'reverse engineering alien tech' or whatever.

Ergo our military is claiming that Russia or Iran are more advanced (by centuries) in technology than we are.

So the question is 'how likely is that claim to be true?'. That some rival terrestrial nation could be so advanced that its building aircraft that defy Newtonian physics, and we Americans cant equal it?'

That's what my satirical post was aimed at: It's the Chinese and or Russians, uh huh yeah sure US government. You're the ones with Area 51 etc.
