so, what i want to know is why there was a shooting at a house party in the first place?

which is extraordinary difficult when your friend is dying and you have been asked the same question multiple times.

i wouldn't be surprised of most callers had a similar frantic attitude.

reminds me of a story about a traffic officer deliberately taking his sweet time writing up a speeding ticket for someone, speeding because he was rushing his dog to the vet.

the dog didn't make it.

There was a man in Louisiana who was speeding to the hospital after suffering a heart attack - admittedly not the smartest stunt, though a friend's dad had done the same thing. When he got pulled over for breaking the sped limit, he tried explaining the situation to the officer who had stopped him. The cop, instead of escorting the man to the hospital or calling an ambulance, took his time writing a ticket, and even threatened to arrest the man. Afterwards, the cop told him he could go on having his heart attack or stroke, like some kind of sadistic bully.

It actually sounds like the operator was trying to mess with the caller by repeatedly asking the same question. It didn't seem like he took his job very seriously. I am not sure if there is a law against what he did, but I am sure they are not allowed to just hang up on people. He should certainly be fired.

The moment you are in a hurry and need someone else's help, you know you are f****d.

He can't be fired, he's already resigned. All his supervisors said that what he did was wrong.

I wonder if he will ever be able to get 911 operator work elsewhere? or if it will be back to "ya want fries with that?" for him for the foreseeable future.

Till he turns his back on a customer whose order he doesn't like or understand.
