My wife's brother happens to own chickens in Trinidad. Even some relatively urban people own goats and other livestock in Trinidad.

Fewer and fewer people in the United States own livestock----because of the expansion of agribusiness.

I used to have three pet chickens when I lived in Pensacola, but I had to get rid of them because the neighbors complained. :(

I always got free eggs too. :chef:

I am surprised that you would last even a week in Pensacola with pet chickens unless in the century/Molino area.

I'm a city boy, through and through.

I was curious as to your impression of the 4H Club.

I actually wanted to join but my mom told me I would not like it. So I joined the book club instead. :|

I lived in Escambia County which is close to the Alabama state line. I could technically have hens but not a rooster as they make too much noise.

I don't think I'm truly "city" nor "country". I'm more "small town". Maybe it shows?

And I used to LOVE books! But our book club sucked. :|

Right, I am familiar with Escambia county, which was why I questioned Molino and century specifically. The North end of the county is rural, the middle and South parts of the county are about the most densely populate areas in the panhandle atleast until you get to Panama City Beach.

Where my wife grew up in Trinidad, you hear roosters and dogs all night long.

The roosters cause the dogs to bark----then the dogs cause the roosters to crow----a sort of a vicious cycle LOL

The only places I ever went to in the 10 years I lived there were the Escambia county area, Brownsville, and Santa Rosa. Pensacola was so big and I only saw a small portion of the city...
