That wasn't intelligence. That was policy. There was intelligence out the wazoo indicating that there were no weapons of mass destruction, and that there was no connection to 9/11.
While the spinmeisters are still trying to muddle the issue, the president himself has admitted that there were no WMDs and no connection.
As far as Chavez, I'm not really sure how I feel about him. But I am disinclined to believe much of the negative that I read about him, because of several details:
1) the first several things that I read about him described him as a dictator. This is not the case, he is democratically elected.
2) Many of the people cited the fact that he criticised Bush as evidence of his danger.
3) As mentioned above, he has made several offers to the US to ensure adequate supply of fuel oil, and been turned down at least at the federal level.
4) Gas stations that are owned by Venezuela are among the few places where one can get gasoline that does not go to the middle east.
