I did the One Chip Challenge a couple years ago, with a small group of friends.
I strongly advise against it, it very nearly put one of my friends in the hospital and I can definitely see how someone could potentially die if they have a bad reaction. Literally the only time in my life I've had to dial 911 and it was over a damn corn chip
