“Today we started a big, beautiful wall right on the Rio Grande,” declared President Donald Trump, apparently a reference to fencing being erected along the river that divides Mexico from the United States.
This comes just days before a deadline for Congress to agree on a border security plan to avert another partial shutdown of the federal government.
Large red banners with white lettering spelling out ‘FINISH THE WALL’ loomed over Trump’s event.

Trump's primary argument for his "beautiful wall" was that crime would be reduced. In a rally he declared a border wall around El Paso Texas has reduced crime in the area. He was greeted with raucous cheers. However they might be premature as according to the El Paso Times, from 2006 to 2011, violent crime in El Paso actually increased by 17 percent.

That was probably photoshopped unless it was stenciled onto a Polo band shirt.

Perhaps Trump's cult ate too many peeling chips of lead-based paint as babies.

I wonder if the increased presence of the border patrol and the barrier helped them catch more criminals.

A violent incident occurred during Trumps El Paso rally, where a BBC cameraman had been physically assaulted by a MAGA hat wearing goon after Trump had stirred the mob up against the media. The attacker was dragged off by security.
What's Trump going to do about violent crime at his own rallies? Expect a wall to take care of that, too?
