Seriously, there needs to be an emoticon for a face palm, because if there was ever a need for it, it's this story!

Maybe so. Maybe she also admitted to being a thespian!

Also, here are two points that should both help you understand this story, and drive home just how stupid people are.

1: The head of the school looked up the word, and thus presumably understands what it means, and yet appears to stand by the decision.

2: The terminated party understands and accepts his termination.

those two facts imply that both the terminator and terminatee know that regardless of whether they are enlightened, a substantial number of potential readers of the blog will not be.

Years ago, there was a teacher who got fired because she had taught her students the word "niggardly," and a black kid in class had been offended. While the school board conceded the word niggardly had nothing to do with the offending word, they still refused to give her back her job. Stupidity by school boards appears to be rampant.

People don't care about dictionary definitions. They would rather be willfully ignorant and don't want to be educated on words and realize their mistake and misunderstanding. I sometimes think people are too embarrassed so they stand by.

I wonder if Balzac is on their banned books list?

They probaly removed Uranus from science, Bangkok from geography, and gesticulate from drama.

I'm a pianist, and I don't care who knows it!

Could be worse... you like playing your organ in public - and in a church of all places!

Well, not professionally. I'm really just a person with mediocre piano skills, but that wouldn't have sounded as funny.

I was trying to rip on Freud:"pianist envy".

:D

Though I do actually envy folks who play musical instruments.
