Kim Jong Un threatened (through his agents) to blow up any theater that shows the Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy “The Interview”.
This shows that Kim Jong Un is not only evil but also a spoiled brat that has a minimal IQ. The movie was a golden opportunity presented to him on a silver platter. If he had had a press conference and said something like, “I liked the movie. I thought it portrayed me as being kinda silly but hey it’s only a comedy! Go see it! I laughed and almost busted a gut!” * All of a sudden the world would see (I am talking about perception not reality) him as cool and be more likely to view his policies as sane. Instead he has a temper tantrum, marches around in his diapers (metaphorically speaking) and becomes a worldwide joke.
* If I were him I would say that even if I hated the movie. My duty as leader is paramount.

He may be a moron, but he's a clever moron - his plan worked. Sony has caved in to his threats.

I don't see anything foolish in his actions at all. As Fnord said, "his plan worked".

I think he mostly wants the movie to go away because he is terrified that if it becomes popular outside of North Korea, people will illegally smuggle/sell the movie in North Korea, which would sort of ruin his reputation as a divine leader.

First point, there is no absolute proof that he is responsible for the threats. I don't think he is that intelligent. He is immature. Look at his face. I honestly believe he was born with some mental impairment. The way you are ridiculing him puts you on the same level as him in the way of expressing dissatisfaction with someone. There are more effective ways to show disapproval with someone other than using that persons same tactics. Yeah, he aint right in the melon and is irrational but I think idiotic is more appropriate than moron in this specific case. case.

“look at his face.”
chagya
So a person’s face reveals their intellectual ability? Do you believe in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrenology ?
So if someone calls you idiotic you would not be offended? But if they called you a moron you would be offended? So "idiotic' is less insulting than "moron"?
I suppose that "idiotic" refers to an action and "moron" refers to a person. I must admit that I have not explored the subject as thoroughly as you.I will provisionally concede that you are right. I really do not care .

At this point in time the evidence is strong that North Korea initiated the threats. I do not think that the North Korean government would initiate anything so important without Kim Jong Un’s knowledge and approval.

WOULD?!? Hehe. That would be short leap from his current status, wouldn't it?

He is a criminal of the worst kind that should be brought to justice. Since this is unlikely to ever happen given the current state of international affairs, I wholeheartedly wish a slow and painful demise for him and his clique.

He's just as much as a moron as his dad and grandfather were. North Korea has been run by idiots since it's conception.

Of course we know it is all nonsense but the North Koreans are forced to believe it. With the former leader they created some legend how 1001 doves flew over his house when he was born or some such crap. Dictators like their own personality cult, I'm not sure how much of it the locals believe or whether they just go along out of fear, possibly a combination of both.

Its more than obvious he cares very little for what the world at large thinks of him. On the other hand he cares very much about what his own people think. They go to great lengths in North Korea to portray him almost as a diety. Even minor joking about him by his own people would not be tolerated. What will he do when word reaches his own people of an entire Hollywood movie whose sole purpose is to make fun of him and his own people see he did nothing about it?

Meanwhile, if the definition of intelligence has anything to do with the standard of living, level of wealth and the level of respect/reverence from your nation you can achieve for yourself, he's far, far from a moron, no matter how despicable he may seem to us on the outside.

He's a socialist dictator. There's plenty of "smart" people that agree with that form of government.

Yes, he is a moron, but he's much too narcissistic to realize it. And being surrounded by sycophants telling him he's the greatest human ever to live doesn't help.
